Long ago, as revenge on a Corwin who stole her son’s fiancée, a witch proclaimed an eternal curse that every Corwin male who married for love would be destined to lose his woman and his fortune…
Derek thought he could outsmart the long-standing Corwin curse by breaking up with Gabrielle, his first love—and marrying someone else. Now, divorced and broke, all he has left is his teenage daughter and a healthy respect for ancient sorcery. But then Gabrielle returns, determined to defeat the curse and rekindle their passion. But will her stubborn streak and her unwavering love be the lucky charm Derek so desperately needs?
LUCK is so fickle, isn’t it? And yet many of us believe. It’s the possibility that Lady Luck will step in and pick us up provides a ray of hope. LUCK causes us to play the lottery, pick up a heads up penny, read fortune cookies, and many more crazy, superstitious things. I don’t have my own good luck charm, per se, but I do operate on the presumption of superstition in some ways. And sometimes, thankfully, luck pays off for me!
It was the concept of LUCK that drove the idea for my new LUCKY series, starting with LUCKY CHARM.
Fortune hasn’t been so kind, however, to the men in the Corwin family. And Derek Corwin is the latest to cross her path. Long ago, as revenge on a Corwin who stole her son’s fiancée, a witch proclaimed an eternal curse that every Corwin male who married for love would be destined to lose his woman and his fortune. Derek thought he could outsmart the long-standing Corwin curse by breaking up with Gabrielle, his first love – and marrying someone else.
After Derek comes Mike Corwin in LUCKY STREAK, June 2009 and Jason Corwin in LUCKY BREAK, October 2009.
I wanted to extend LUCK to my readers so I’ve created an on-going contest which encompasses all three books in this series for those who read them. I call it the “Lucky You” Contest.
So, what do you all think of LUCK? Does it exist? Are you at all superstitious? Or do you meticulously plan?
Yes I think luck exist. I also think some people are luckier then others. I have alway heard you make your own luck and yes sometime I think you do, but some people are just better at it then others.
Do I feel lucky? LOL Well I guess with that question you can guess I do believe in it. I can’t say I have a lucky charm….although I do have my grandmothers real rabbits foot charm. It’s a keychain made out of a real rabbit’s foot. She gave me a healthy respect for superstitions. I can’t say I believe in them all, never believed in the black cats, because I love cats too much and my mom now owns one. Although she may say he’s bad luck(he’s spoiled rotten).
As for planning, nope, not really. I will have a general plan but allow for changes. LOL
I can’ t wait to read LUCKY CHARM. The whole series looks good!

WendyK
Welcome, Carly!
I was reading earlier a tribute to Paul Newman that he was famous for saying, “If I had a plan, I would be screwed”
That’s pretty much my motto 😀 No plan, just do the best you can with whatever life throws your way. So yes, I believe in luck.
On the other hand, I don’t consider myself superstitious in the usual way (black cats, number 13, etc).
Best of luck with the new series!
I am looking forward to the new series.
I believe in luck and that some people are luckier than others.
Hi Carly:
Your books sound awesome and very unique! I actually read your post earlier in the day and have been pondering my response. lol
I do have a lucky charm. I wear it on a necklace which never comes off. It is a letter L with tiny, tiny diamond chips inlaid. It was a gift from my dearest friend Wendy who lives in Australia. Wendy has premonitions, sees spirits, and considers herself a witch. I believe she is quite correct.
Anyway so, do I believe in luck? Absolutely!
Great post. I will look forward to reading your stories Carly.
Regards
Lea
Hi Carly,
I am superstitious! I never really thought about it when I was younger until I met my hubby and he so believes in kharma & is very superstitious. Luck is a little different for me as I think you make your own luck by trying to always be the best person you can be, doing the right thing, making the correct choices, & being honest . That may be more kharma/superstitious then luck but that’s how I see it.
However, I do have “lucky charms”!! I had already put this book on the to be bought list when I saw it on Plot Monkeys ( I love that name). So I am very much looking forward to reading it!
Have a great day,
Susan
Unfortunately today is a day I feel like if it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all!
If lucky charms truly exist than I need to figure out what it is for me and hold onto it with all my might.
I was going to listen to an audio and started the CD and realized it was the second book in the series. Stopped listening, and attempted to find the first on CD, but alas it’s not there! I have it in print, so I’m going to have to hunt it down out of my TBR because the bit I listened to was so much fun.
Thank you Carly for writing stories that I know will keep me entertained for endless hours on end, and are connected as those are my favorite!

Carly – This book sounds awesome. I’ve added it to be TBB list.
I think luck is like fate and if it’s meant for you to be lucky then you are. But I also believe that in certain circumstances you can make your own luck, but not in all. Because just as good luck happens bad luck happens as well. Does that make sense?
I think luck is a combination of being in the right place at the right time and knowing what to do in that moment.
I’ll be picking up this book next weekend!
Valerie
HUGE apologies for being MIA! My daughter had knee surgery today. Moved up from Wednesday (good news/bad news kinda thing). She’s FINE but LONG day. I’m here though and THANK YOU all for visiting with me!!!!
I don’t have any one lucky charm per se, but I do keep a $2 bill in my wallet my dad gave me when I was living in NYC and was all of 21 years old!
Carly, I hope your daughter is feeling much, much better–and that you both have some chance to rest and recover.
Take care!
Hmm… I don’t think I believe in luck per se–I personally believe that God’s in control, so sometimes I feel especially blessed, and other times, I assume that God’s got different plans for me (although winning the lottery sure seems like it would be a fun thing! ;)) Hope your daughter’s healing swiftly! And congrats on Lucky Charm!
I feel luck exists 😛 and that I used up my “luck” quota before high school. Haha – no, it comes and goes and is random, but is something nice to think or talk about.
I hope your daughter is recovering quickly, Carly!
