Because I’m like techno challenged or something, I can’t get Anya’s graphic of her new contest to post here but all is not lost! You can go to her website and see the celebration she has going on for her upcoming book, THE CHOSEN SIN. Hot cover, right?

The Chosen are vampires fighting for their very existence. It is Daria Morris’s destiny to become one of them…

Daria is a special forces agent with one obsession: to wreak vengeance on the vampire who nearly destroyed her. But to succeed, she must become something she detests: a vampire. Her fate rests upon Alejandro Martinez, a sexy vampire with whom she once shared an unforgettable night of scorching passion.

Now, while Daria struggles against her newfound bloodlust, the two must slip into the shadows to bring a monster to justice—even as their desire threatens to consume them…

Meet Lieutenant Howard “Six-Pack” Paxton— one of the handsome, hard-bodied firefighters of Station Five.

Four-alarm fires have nothing on him…

Howard may love being a firefighter and riding his Harley, but there’s nothing he values more than his bachelorhood. That is, until a feisty, curvaceous teacher named Kat McKenna falls into his arms at the scene of a fire—and melts the six-foot-six tower of bronze muscle…

But just as passion ignites between them—and they explore new heights of sexual ecstasy—a ruthless arsonist with a deadly secret and a thirst for vengeance becomes their worst nightmare…

I’d been expecting it. Bracing for it. And finally, after scads of gushing emails from happy readers (yay!) about the first book of my new Firefighters of Station Five series, TRIAL BY FIRE, I received the one: Loved your book, but could you tone down the sex scenes?

Um, let me think…I’ll pass, thank you very much.

The discussion over the rise of eroticism in romance across the board is not a new one; for every reader that disagrees with this direction, there are growing numbers devouring them. Given the meteoric success of hotter books, more readers than ever are demanding their stories contain an extra pepper or two in the salsa. This fact is proven in sheer sales figures, indicating these readers have always been there, just waiting for sexier books in more plentiful numbers.

Fine by me. But let me make one thing patently clear: Jo writes really hot books because that’s what she loves to do. I don’t write to trends, I tell the stories that must be told before my brain explodes, and almost every one of your favorite authors will share that same sentiment. Writing isn’t an exact science containing one perfect method that will please all in the land. Creating story, characters, dialogue, steamy scenes, and the handling thereof, is the author’s choice. Our readers depend on us to remain true to our vision and style, and sometimes that point is overlooked in the discussion.

Are my books hotter than hell? You betcha. My readers can rest easy knowing that won’t change any time soon, and neither will my style of blending fast-paced suspense with the steamy romance. Down the road, if we’re all ready for a change, then who knows?

For now, we’ll enjoy the ride together.

Discussion:

If you’ve read TRIAL BY FIRE, which hero or couple are you dying to see steam up the pages in the future, and why?

OR:

Who are your favorite authors of sexy/erotic romance and why?

****Leave a comment for the chance to win a copy of TRIAL BY FIRE! Good Luck!
