A Demon Enslaved…
Lore is a Seminus half-breed demon who has been forced to act as his dark master’s assassin. Now to earn his freedom and save his sister’s life, he must complete one last kill. Powerful and ruthless, he’ll stop at nothing to carry out this deadly mission.
An Angel Tempted…
Idess is an earthbound angel with a wild side sworn to protect the human Lore is targeting. She’s determined to thwart her wickedly handsome adversary by any means necessary—even if that means risking her vow of eternal chastity. But what begins as a simple seduction soon turns into a passion that leaves both angel and demon craving complete surrender.
Torn between duty and desire, Lore and Idess must join forces as they battle their attraction for each other. Because an enemy from the past is rising again—hellbent on vengeance and unthinkable destruction.

Demons. Not everyone loves them… can you imagine?
Yeah, me neither.
But in Ecstasy Unveiled, I took my demons a step further, and created a hero who is not only a demon, but an assassin.
Now, for most people, the word, “assassin,” does not conjure images of a cuddly, gentle teddy bear of a hero.
But I love them. I eat up Anne Stuart novels like popcorn with danger-flavored butter.
I recently said this about the assassin hero:
I love the promise of a dark, dangerous, alpha male who can take care of himself – and the woman he loves. I love how he’ll fight to the death for those to whom he’s loyal. I love how he’s the silent soldier, the highly-trained behind-the-scenes guy who does work others don’t have the stomach to do. He’s the guard dog we tread carefully around because he’s a little scary, but we also respect him because those very traits that make us fear him are the ones that keep the wolves (and, in my hero’s case, werewolves!) at bay.
We might not be able to do his job, but we are thankful that he can.
So yes, he may walk a fine moral line, but that’s what makes him so fascinating. That’s what makes him the type to fall hard when he finally does fall for the strong heroine who stands up to him.
So, in Ecstasy Unveiled, I bring a demon assassin to the table, a man whose moral line is something he’s struggled with. When Idess, an angel who makes him confront the not the bad person he’s been, but the good person he could be, he sees something in himself he never thought existed.
And he realizes he can finally have something he’d been afraid to hope for; love.
What about you? As a reader, do you enjoy reading about heroes who struggle with their morals. I love them, so I’d love some reading suggestions if you have them!

Hi! I love all the previous books in Demonica series and I’m sure I’ll love this one, too. This kind of alpha heroes are my favourite – I love when they struggle 🙂 with their morals and principles. And of course I adore when they have this fantastic lady to help them out 🙂
I’m a bit late to the party so to speak. Just finished the first book in the series not too long ago, and absolutely loved it. Immediately bought all the others, including the new one.
LOVE the hero that is struggling with his issues, whether it be morals, his past, etc. The reason is the same you mentioned – when he falls, he falls hard, and the one he falls for is strong and capable – a fun match to watch.
If this contest is international, count me in. 😉
Since reading Desire Unchained I’ve been hooked and promptly devoured the first and third books in the series. Love the style, the world-building and the realistic characters. The gritty and no-holding back scenarios too. 😉
Hi Larissa! Awesome series, and I can’t wait to get my hands on Lore’s book! Count me in on the contest please.
I have the previous Demonica books but haven’t read them yet,but I will soon 🙂 Everyone loves this series.
please count me in for the giveaway
Hi Larissa,
You are a new-to-me author and I’m not 100% familiar with your work. What I’ve just read here today sounds good though.
Oh gosh, yes a good tortured hero is the best kind. And to have struggle with his morals makes it better. But keeping it real is the thing. When I read, I think how hard it would be to do this or that… whatever the characters are going through. I mean the feelings, the emotions… have to come from the soul. It comes out on paper that way. At least for me, yea, I am strange, lol!
Thanks for the chance to win! Please count me in!!
Love the struggling hero; it makes it so much more meaningful when they overcome their negatives.
Thanks for sharing and the chance to win.
I love this series. I am a fan of the struggling hero.
Looking forward to the release, I enjoy the series!
I have never read any of the books in this series, but it looks like I am going to have to know – it sounds so great!
I do love the struggling hero. The thought of these big strong men, or demons, trying to find their way, or make sense in what they are doing. Yep, they get me every time!
This a great series. I am looking forward to reading the latest release.
I want this book now! I cannot wait to get my hands on it!
I need to read this series! It sounds so good
Larissa * just shuddering that anyone can not love a demon * jk! Poor Lillie she would go into shock I believe… But as to your question, I do enjoy reading about heroes who are struggling with their morals it adds a bit more “umph” and flavor to the plot and lets us get a bit more closer to the character. Sorry not getting my thought clearer today
*Hi Larissa*
I love a conflicted hero too. I love reading of when the hero has a ‘moment’, a thought where he realises he can be more than what he currently is . . . and that he is also deserving of it too, that life is not all black and white but lots of shades of gray.
Congrats on your newest release! 😀
Congrats on the release. I am looking forward to reading it.
Heroes that struggle with obstacles or their own demons are ones that I enjoy reading… it is always worth it to see how the character evolves towards the end of a book… to reaching their deserved HEA! 😀
Hi everyone!
Thanks for stopping by! Love hearing your thoughts on morally gray heroes! 🙂 I so love them.
I think I got a deeper understanding of them through my husband, who is sort of…gray area. He could easily be an assassin, and he’s got the ability to make some rather cold, hard choices. Yet at the same time, I’ve rarely seen a man be as loving with animals, cats in particular, as he is. And he’s totally a stand up guy when it comes to how women and children should be treated.
So I can definitely see how the man who walks in the gray for some things can still have a very good heart.
Anyway, thanks again for stopping by!!!
Hi Larissa, great to see you here on RR&H talking about the newest Demonica brother and giving Lore some love.
The struggling hero who has major issues in his life no matter what they are and emerges triumphant and whole is not only more realistic for me but also creates more sympathy and empathy as well for the reader. Big fan all the way of all the books and cannot wait to read Lore’s story and then after that we have Sin’s, yes it is going to be a good year for Demons!!!!
Count me in for the chance to win this latest installment!
Larissa as far as books for you to read have you tried Gena Showalters Lords Of The Underworld, Shayla Blacks Doomsday Brethren or J R Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood series to read about tortured heroes? Any of the Dream Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon ?

Hi, Larissa!! I’m just about caught up with your Demonica series, so naturally I’m thrilled that the next installment’s available! Woot!! As for heroes who struggle with their morals, I think that makes for a richer and more real kind of hero–few of us fall easily onto the “straight and narrow,” and it’s easier to relate to a character who has similar doubts or questions. It’s also cool to see a character who’s made some questionable decisions in the past be able to come to terms with them and to turn that around–nothing’s better to me than a redemption story! I’m blanking on specific recommendations though, although I think Ann Aguirre/Ava Gray’s heroes/heroines are an interesting bunch!
Wow! Count me in, please. Thanks.
I love tormented/conflicted heroes. It makes me love them and want to hug them (among other things–hubba hubba-lol) even more. And I am dying to get my hands on this book! This series is amazing and I bow down to your brilliance Larissa!
I love the hero with “issues” and Larissa writes them quite well. Please enter me in the contest. Thank you.
I haven’t read the Demonica books yet, but they are sitting on my wish list at home. I’d love to win this book. I feel that a person can never have to many books to read(unless they can’t move in their home).
Ooooh I love your demons Larissa!! My very most favorite is Eidolon, but I wouldn’t kick any of them out of bed for eating crackers. They are VERY yummy (the demons, I mean. crackers I can take or leave) I actually have the feeling Lore might nudge Eidolon out of his top spot (but don’t tell him I said that, I’ll feel bad)
I had some book suggestions in mind, but jacabur1 beat me to them! Those were all the books I would have suggested LOL
Congrats on the new release, Larissa. I like those tortured guys, so of course that includes a hero like this, struggling with those lines of right and wrong, how far he’s willing to go, or not, finding a sense of honor and rightness is there after all, is he willing to cross back to the other side of the line.
This is a fantastic series. There is no way someone could do anything but love demons the way you write them. Conflicted heroes are definitely a major draw. In the Sigma series by James Rollins the lead character often struggles with a dilemma in regard to a supposed enemy of his and Sigma’s.
Larissa,
Just love your series. Who wouldn’t love as assassin; just another bad boy needing a good woman!
I’ve heard so many good things about this series; it’s time for me to sit down and read them. I know I’m missing out on some awesome stories.
I do like reading about struggling heros. I love this series! Haven’t got this one yet, hopefully this weekend. The covers have been awesome..
love to read about a Struggling hero. Coz he needs to ‘taste’ the pain of struggle before he achieve the sweetness of life 🙂
lore sounds yummy. I can’t wait to get my hands on him.
Oh Larissa I’m so excited about this book. I love your tortured heroes. They are amazing. And I have not been able to find Lore at my Walmart so crossing my fingers to win! 🙂
I’ve only read the first one so far but I can’t wait to read the rest because they sound fabulous!!!
Ahhhh can’t wait to get my copy of Ecstasy Unveiled!!!!! <3<3<3
Oh, yes. Definitely. The more struggle, the better. I’m all about the agnst just as much as I’m all about the fluff 😉 Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole might be good choices to try if you haven’t already!
Great post! The Demonica series sounds A-MAZING!:-)
I think moral dilemmas add to the story….but I still prefer my heros tough and in the end making the right choice. Looking forward to reading Ecstasy Unveiled.
Hi Larissa!
“Demons. Not everyone loves them… can you imagine?”
that can’t be!!! who said that? they are totally wrong!! after reading your series they wouldnt dare to say something like that *nodding* 😉
congrats on the release! I’m up to book two and can’t wait to read on…
wish you all the best,
Ina
I can’t wait to pick up a copy of this book! I’m heading to a more metropolitan area this weekend where I “should” be able buy the book!!!!
I love these demons so much but I am still going to wait for my daughter to buy the book – then I am so going to steal it from her 😉
Congrats on the release! I’m looking forward to reading this one, wonderful series! I love these tortured struggling heroes, one of my favorites is Nykyrian, an assassin in Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Born of Night.
I love this series, please enter me 🙂 Thank you
This book looks like a great read and it has an awesome cover. Please enter me for it. Thanks for the great contest.
I haven’t read any of these books yet but I’ve read so much about them on the blogs. Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of this book!
Oooo, I’m totally with you on Anne Stuart’s (anti-)heros. I recently read INTO THE FIRE and BLACK ICE – zomig! Was Bastien a cold-bastard you couldn’t help loving/wanting or what? As for anti-heros in books you may not have read? I’ve heard Ava Gray’s SKIN GAME is in the same vein, but I haven’t managed to get to my copy yet. *taps finger against lips* Two from Nalini Singh: CARESSED BY ICE (Psy-Changeling) and ANGEL’S BLOOD (Guild Hunter)…can’t think of any others at the moment, but I’ll let ya know if I do.
DEMON ENSLAVED sounds great and uh…you can lump me into the “loves demons” category, crazy as that may sound. 🙂
I think the struggle to do right is what makes the story more interesting. I mean, who doesn’t like a hero with flaws. I look forward to reading this book.
Awesome series. And I love that cover art
Great excerpt. I like this. . .
Hi Larissa! Wow – huge response here 🙂
As for heroes that struggle with morals… yes. Heh. I love a good angsty hero. Which is different from a whiny or pansy one.
I love the hero who has to reach deep, and look at himself, and think about what his core beliefs are. Introspection and personal growth are always what make a story excellent.
As for examples… well – I’ll go with an “odd” choice. On Fortune’s Wheel by Cynthia Voigt. The hero, as it were, is somewhat arrogant. I’d say the setting is medieval, and he’s going to be an earl. But then he becomes a slave. Anyway – he goes through quite the journey. I also love that book. Love.
Another example… well I can’t top that right now so I’ll leave it as is 🙂
I think Lore is going to be my favorite … well at least until the next installment.
A hero who struggles is more interesting and “human”. Easier to relate to & come to love.
Ms.Ione I just want to say I love your books
