HerWarriorsThreeWishes72Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?

Ambrose Griffin is older than most, if not all, civilizations. As each year passes, he submerses himself into his training, only relaxing around his protégée and friend, Shade.  After losing his wife and children in the last Angelic Wars, he guards his heart and has no desire to share it with another.

Bookkeeper and romance novel enthusiast, Jamie Bennett dreams of being swept off her feet by a white knight. However, her life is no romance book. Since meeting Ambrose—a sexy, delicious angel—she’s been twisted inside out and doesn’t know why.  Things are happening that she can’t control and now her life is in danger.

Balin Drake is stuck in hell, literally. His life of refusing to take souls, even though it’s part of his demon nature, has caught up with him. He’s dying and now must search for his true half, but even a mating may not save him. When he meets the two people who could fill that part, he’ll need to fight for something he hasn’t felt in over a century—hope.

Warning: Contains a rigid angel who needs a certain sexy woman to help him unwind, a book keeper who finds herself the creamy center of the best cookie ever, and a demon who has a certain taste for pressing them both against walls.

~~~*~~~*~~~
Thank you so much for having me today! I’m very lucky to have my heroine from Her Warriors’ Three Wishes today. Jamie was just a normal human living in a world that changed dramatically in Dust of My Wings (Dante’s Circle Book 1). Now? Well, you’ll have to read and see.
Carrie Ann: Jamie! I’m so glad you got a chance to sit down with me today.
Jamie: Thanks for having me.
Carrie Ann: So tell me, how much has changed since you first walked into that bar that night?
Jamie: Oh geez. The girls and I had just gone into Dante’s for a drink and to talk and then boom, struck by lightning.
Carrie Ann: And now you guys are paranormals. Or, at least you will be once you find your true halves.
Jamie: Yes, that’s what starts the process for our conversion. Apparently humans aren’t really human, but are diluted down versions of paranormals. When the lightning hit us, we all had our dormant DNA triggered.
Carrie Ann: Any hint as to what you turn into.
Jamie: Nope, you’ll just have to read and see.
Carrie Ann: What is it like to be mated to two men—an angel and a demon?
Jamie: *blushes* Well, I’m never alone unless I ask for it. They’re so caring—even if they can kill a rogue in an instant if needed. You’d never think men so big and so…gruff…could be so gentle.
Carrie Ann: Jealous! I love the fact that you took down such a stoic angel. Ambrose is a fan favorite and Balin seems to be just as popular to those who have read it.
Jamie: *grins* I’m one lucky girl.
Carrie Ann: Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
Jamie: Sure, but I think a woman in any relationship can be. It helps that Balin and Ambrose are also in love so it’s the three of us working together, plus our individual relationships.
Carrie Ann: Any secrets in making it work?
Jamie: Communication. I make sure I let Balin and Ambrose know what I’m thinking. We lost too much time because we’d been too afraid to share what we wanted and desired.
Carrie Ann: Can you tell me about what I hear about Balin’s passion for pressing his mates up against walls?
Jamie: *blushes* Read the book.
Carrie Ann: Point taken. Okay, thank you dear for coming by and I’m so, so happy that I got to write your story. And readers, Jamie and I will be here if you have any questions. Thank you so much!
Excerpt
God, talk about pathetic. It had been a year since she’d seen him, and she wanted to throw herself at him. The image of her doing so filled her mind and she held back a groan. She wasn’t a desperate woman; she could handle the temptation.
The laughter echoing in her head, which sounded suspiciously like Faith, could easily be ignored.
Becca went back behind the bar while Ambrose stood back and gestured for her to walk first. That was good, that way she wouldn’t be caught staring at him like a starving dog clamoring after a bone.
A meaty, delicious, mouth-watering bone.
She blinked. That was enough of that.
He’s her only hope…
Park ranger Hope Banning’s plans for a little R & R are put on hold when a plane crashes at the top of a remote mountain. Hope will have to climb the summit and assess the situation. And the only climbing partner available is Sam Rutherford—the enigmatic man she spent a night with six months ago.
For staying alive
Ever since Sam lost his girlfriend in a falling accident, he insists on climbing solo. But Hope and any potential survivors need his help. As Sam and Hope set out on an emergency search-and-rescue mission, he realizes the sparks still sizzle between them. And when they learn a killer is among the survivors, they must place their trust in each other for a chance at happiness.
Freefall was a great mix of action/adventure and romantic suspense. I was intrigued by Hope from the very beginning and I loved her blend of strength and vulnerability. She took risks and she let nothing stand in her way. The chemistry and angst between her and Sam caused me to finish this story in one sitting. One of my favorite parts about Freefall is the killer Hope is chasing. He’s fully fleshed out. There was no cartoonish evilness with him and I didn’t resent the the scenes from his POV, which I usually do with romantic suspense. Instead, I found myself looking forward to finding out more about him. My only complaint about this book is I’m not sure I believe that Sam had fully moved on from his former fiancee. His ‘I love you’  seemed rushed when you look at where he was emotionally at the beginning of the book and that left me not fully buying their HEA. Overall, though, I enjoyed this one. Fast paced with lots of drama!
The best type of growing up involves getting down and dirty
RockyMountainRebel300-e1353093396207Vicki Hansol made different choices than her less-than-reputable mom and sister, yet her fiery temper has left her branded with the same town-bad-girl label. When she desperately needs a change of scenery, her get-out-of-town-free ticket arrives—and requires she face down one of her deepest fears.
Easygoing Joel Coleman has nothing to complain about, but he’s never really done anything to brag about either. The youngest member of the Six Pack Ranch is looking to make some changes in his life that include stepping out from under his twin brother’s shadow.
So when the bold beauty with the smart mouth approaches him with a proposition, Joel is intrigued. Her request for him to teach her to ride soon takes on a whole new meaning. All that passion in his arms, his bed, in the barn…hell, anywhere he can get it? Bring it on.
But tangling the sheets leads to unanticipated complications, and by the time the dust settles, everything family means is going to be challenged.
Caution: Saddle up for some youthful vigor applied with great enthusiasm. Ropes, rails and raunchy sex—there’s more places to get dirty around the ranch than first meets the eye.
~~***~~
One of the joys of writing in a continuing series is that I get to return again and again to find out what’s happening next in the lives of previous heroes and heroines, as well as the continuing adventures of other family members.
While the story of Rocky Mountain Rebel is uniquely Joel and Vicki’s, there are twists and turns that give previous readers of the series glimpses of their favorite (to now) family. Newcomers to the ranch—I’ve worked hard to make sure each story stands alone, so while you might not get all the family jokes, you’ll be able to enjoy being introduced to a collection of people who are unique individuals while a part of a greater whole—a part of rock solid family.
Today, and at a few other special blogs during release week, I’ve got excerpts to let you take a peek into a few of those family relationships. Good, bad…you know, typical family.
And I hope you’ll join me in settling Joel and Vicki into their HEA.
Joel and Daniel & his boys
Joel headed toward town and his closest brother. Daniel might not have the twin-speak advantage there’d always been between him and Jesse, but in some ways, that made him a better sounding board.
They got each other. Understood the motivation to do something a little different.
Pulling up in front of Daniel and Beth’s home in town felt a touch strange, though. Jesse had been right. His older brothers were settling down, which was normal, but changed the dynamics like crazy.
As did the wild new family additions who rushed his truck.
“Uncle J, Uncle J.” Little boys shrieked as he stepped onto the lawn, allowing his three nephews to tackle him to the ground.
“Hey, guys. You ready for it? Three, two, one.” The game Daniel’s adopted boys had created of Guess the Uncle hadn’t gotten old yet, so he and Jesse still went along with it.
“Joel,” two of them shouted.
“Jesse,” the littlest of the three, Robbie, insisted.
“That’s Joel’s truck, you dum-dum.” Lance poked his brother. “Jesse only drives it sometimes.”
Robbie tilted his eight-year-old head to the side and stared hard into Joel’s eyes. “You sure you’re not Jesse?”
“Sorry, short stuff. Uncle Joel at your service.”
Nathan didn’t care who it was dropping in unannounced. “You gonna take us fishing? Riding? To visit—”
“Whoa, rein it in. I’m here to visit your mom and dad, and you for a bit, I guess. What you up to?”
“Playing.”
The front door opened, and Daniel stuck his head out. “Lunch time.”
The three short people vanished as if they’d never been there. Joel pushed himself off the grass and wiped at his jeans. “You got extra for me?” he called.
Daniel leaned on the doorframe. “Don’t know. You planning on teaching my kids any more bad habits like proposing another ‘who can shove the most hard-boiled eggs in their mouths at one time’ contest?”
“That was Jesse.” Still he couldn’t help but smile as he headed in and patted his brother on the back. “Also, I seem to remember you won.”
“Shh, no getting me in trouble.” Daniel grinned at him. “Good to see you. Got something other than a free lunch on your mind?”
“That transparent?”
They walked toward the kitchen and the noise level rose exponentially.
“You’re always welcome, but there’s not much excitement around here for a single guy, egg-eating contests exempted. Also?” Daniel paused in the doorway and spoke softer. “I saw you last night at Traders. You were distracted. Let me feed you, and once the horde is full we can take them outside and talk.”
Joel nodded, but felt a bit of a fool. “Is Beth around? I kinda have a question for her first.”
Daniel raised a brow. “Sure. You can take lunch into her office.”
He passed over a plate filled with finger foods and pointed down the hall.
“It’s nothing bad,” Joel started, but Daniel waved him down.
“Don’t be stupid. You want to talk to Beth, talk to her. I don’t need to know the details ahead of time. Ass.”
“Daddy. You’re not supposed to call your brother an ass. Mummy said so.” Robbie was all wide-eyed as he worked on the sandwich he held in a two-handed death grip.
“You’re not supposed to call your brothers an ass until they are adults. Then you can pick the best words for the occasion, okay?”
The older two nephews snickered as the littlest one puzzled over that explanation.
Daniel pushed Joel down the hallway. “Go, before you get me in more trouble.”
The continued spirited conversation behind him regarding the use of the words ass, jackass and butt had Joel chuckling by the time he knocked on the office door.
Death threats and a broken heart…
Forever Alexa 800 Cover reveal and PromotionalFirst grade teacher and single mother Alexa Harris is no stranger to struggle, but for once, things are looking up. The school year is over and the lazy days of summer are here. Mini-vacations and relaxing twilight barbeques are on the horizon until Alexa’s free-spirited younger sister vanishes.
Ransom calls and death threats force Alexa and her young daughter to flee their quiet home in Maryland. With nowhere else to turn, Alexa seeks the help of Jackson Matthews, Ethan Cooke Security’s Risk Assessment Specialist and the man who broke her heart.
With few leads to follow and Abby’s case going cold, Alexa must confess a shocking secret if she and Jackson have any hope of saving her sister from a hell neither could have imagined.
The Unofficial Forever Alexa Soundtrack
Music is a huge part of my writing process. I typically listen to Pandora or YouTube and compile a collection of songs that I feel represent my characters or the situations they face as the novel unfolds. It’s a rare occasion that my creativity demands quiet (And that’s a good thing. I’m a mother of two boys. Quiet doesn’t happen in my house.). Here are a few of the songs that ‘spoke’ to me while I created Jackson and Alexa’s story!
The soundtrack, of sorts, for Forever Alexa:
  • All I Ever Wanted by Brian Melo
  • Beautiful Words by The Afters
  • By Your Side by Lifehouse
  • Chances Are by Five For Fighting
  • I Still by Backstreet Boys
  • Let Me Love You by Ne-Yo
  • Inconsolable by Backstreet Boys
  • Breathe Me by Sia
  • The Mess I Made by Parachute
  • All This Time by One Republic
Read an excerpt from Forever Alexa:
Alexa stared out the living room window, watching the sun hover closer to the mountains in the distance. The deep country dark would soon surround her house. The dread of another long, sleepless night tightened the muscles of her shoulders and jaw until they ached. She eyed the Louisville Slugger, now leaning against the side table, as she listened to Olivia’s happy chatter filling the small space. Livy and her dolls were enjoying the tiny glass teapot Alexa had filled with milk, the apple she had quartered, and the graham crackers she set out for an impromptu after-dinner tea party.
“Mommy, come play with us. You can sit by Lucy.”
Alexa turned and gave Livy what smile she could. “Maybe in a little while, sweetie.”
“The graham cracker is very yummy.” Livy held up the golden half of cookie, dangling it like a token bribe, before she took a big bite.
“It looks wonderful, but I have more work to do on the computer.”
Livy turned back to her life-sized baby doll and bit Lucy’s cracker too as the party began again.
Alexa desperately wanted to join in on the fun but couldn’t. There wasn’t time. She had just over twenty-four hours to collect an unattainable amount of money. Sighing, she twisted the blind closed and turned away from the window, wishing the media vans were still parked along the dirt road out front. At least someone would’ve been close by while she waited for daylight again. The fifteen-car pile up on I-81 North sent the reporters and their news crews scattering several hours before. The knocks at the door had ceased. Abby’s disappearance had already been forgotten, and she had no choice but to keep it that way.
Alexa glanced at Livy before she sat down to the laptop she’d left on the coffee table. She’d spent the last two hours researching ransom and hostage situations while dodging non-stop phone calls from concerned friends, co-workers, and of course the press. She’d let the answering machine pick them up until the message box was full. She couldn’t deal with the questions.
She stared at the article she’d read before she had to put the computer down and walk away. The information had been so troubling, so depressing, she’d had to stop. The odds of Abby coming home were dwindling with every minute passing. Mr. Macabee had been correct; if she could get the money and pay the ransom, the kidnappers were likely to demand more and kill her sister anyway.
Alexa closed her eyes and rubbed her fingers against the throb in the center of her forehead. What was she going to do? The media wasn’t an option. The police weren’t either. So where did that leave her? She glanced at Livy again, wiggled her mouse, and typed Evan Cooke Security, LA into her search engine.
Hits for Ethan Cooke Security popped up instead. She followed the link to the website and studied the company’s bold red and black insignia. World renowned security firm, offering the best in close protection. Alexa clicked the mouse again and her heart stuttered.
Jack.
There he was among several other well-muscled men in the professional group photo. She moved her finger to his handsome face and traced it as she clutched the charm dangling from her necklace.
“Excuse me. Can you help me?”
     Alexa glanced up from the books she was checking back in to the college library computer system and lost her breath as she stared into fantastic blue eyes. “What can I do for you?”
     “I have a ten-page paper due for one of my criminal justice classes in—” he glanced at his watch, “less than twelve hours.”
     She measured his charming smile and ball t-shirt stretched over broad shoulders and mounds of biceps. Her smile dimmed—another dumb jock. Why were the cute ones always a disappointment? She knew her eyes chilled as she answered. “Sounds like a personal problem. The Criminal Justice section is along that wall.” She pointed across the room.
     At ease and clearly unaffected by her scolding tone, he edged himself along the enormous desk. “So, do you practice that disapproving librarian look in the mirror?”
      She refused to give in to her smile. “I might.”
     “You’re too young to have that mastered. What are you, a freshman? I’ve never seen you before.”
     “I’m a sophomore, and I imagine you haven’t. I spend a lot of time in the library.” But she’d seen him—Jackson Matthews, junior, football star, frat boy, Mr. Popular with the ladies. Definitely not her type. Not that she actually had a type, because she’d never been on a date. Her grades were too important. Her scholarships were vital.
     He grinned. “I believe I was just insulted.”
     She smiled this time and shrugged. “Maybe.”
    “You’ve gone and hurt my feelings, and I don’t even know your name.”
     “Alexa.”
     “Alex,” he held out his hand. “Jackson Matthews.”
     Her brow shot up as she stared at him. “I know who you are. And it’s Alexa.”
     He stood and glanced at his watch again. “I guess I should get to work. Maybe I’ll see you around some time, Alex.” He flashed her another heart-stopping grin and walked toward the stacks she’d pointed out.
      She let out a long, shuddering sigh and looked down quickly when he glimpsed over his shoulder and smiled.
      The flip-top phone rang, startling Alexa out of her memories. She jumped and caught the laptop just before it crashed to the floor. Licking her lips, she set the computer on the coffee table and picked up the phone. “Hello? Abby?”
“Wrong again, Sister Alexa,” the familiar mechanical voice said.
Her stomach clenched with dread. “What—”
“I said no press.”
“I didn’t talk to them. I swear I didn’t. They followed me. Please don’t hurt her. Please don’t hurt Abby.”
“I saw you on the news, Sister Alexa. Grocery shopping. You look just like her. I had no idea we could’ve gotten two for the price of one.”
She rushed to her feet, grabbed the heavy wooden baseball bat with a trembling hand, and hurried to the entryway to check the lock as her heart rate soared.
“You broke our deal. I’m docking you six hours. You’re down to twenty. Tick tock.”
“No, I didn’t—”
“Twenty hours or we take Olivia next.” The line went dead.
Alexa gasped for breath as a terror like she’d never known constricted her chest. Not Livy. Not her Livy. She collapsed on the bottom stair in the landing, listening to her daughter’s sweet voice as she continued to play in the next room, oblivious to the danger and turmoil destroying their lives.
Alexa struggled to her feet as her body racked with uncontrollable shudders and tears rushed down her cheeks. They had to go; they had to get out of here. She shoved the heavy bench in front of the door as she had last night and dashed up the steps, yanking a suitcase from the small walk-in storage space. She rushed into Livy’s room and pulled clothes from drawers and the closet at random, then hurried into her own room and did the same. She headed for the bathroom next, scooping toothbrushes and toothpaste into the travel bag she had yet to fully unpack from their trip to Virginia Beach.
Alexa started back downstairs but stopped when Gordon, the mournful-looking stuffed frog Livy had slept with every day since her birth, caught her eye. She snatched the melancholy creature off the bed and bolted down the stairs with the cumbersome luggage, setting it by the door. “Livy, we have to go somewhere, sweetie,” she struggled to say, still fighting for each breath as adrenaline coursed through her veins.
Livy looked up from her spot at her small pink table. She was dressed in the princess costume Abby had made her for Christmas. “I’m having a party, Mommy.”
“I know, honey. I’m sorry, but we really have to go right now.” She flipped her laptop closed, dropped it into its case, and grabbed her purse. Next she took several of Livy’s books and shoved them into a small canvas bag. “Come on. Let’s go.”
Livy’s bottom lip turned down and her eyes filled with tears. “Lucy wants to eat her apples. I want to play tea party.”
“Later, honey.” Alexa glanced out at the darkening sky through the edge of the blind. She wanted them long gone from their isolated home. “You can bring your princess dress with you.”
Livy’s eyes brightened. “Okay.”
She held out her hand. “Let’s go.”
Two hours later, Alexa clutched Olivia’s hand as they walked through Baltimore-Washington International, rolling the suitcase and booster seat behind them. She glanced around as they made their way to the ticket counter, fearful Abby’s kidnappers were somewhere close, watching for the perfect opportunity to snatch her daughter away.
“Can I help you, ma’am?” The pretty blonde smiled from behind her computer.
Alexa peered behind her, spotting the two men dressed in black pants and short-sleeved tops standing by the enormous panes of glass, staring in her direction. She picked up Olivia and clutched her tight. Were they here for Livy? “Yes. I need to buy two tickets.”
“And your destination, ma’am?”
What was her destination? She hadn’t thought that far. Her only instinct had been to flee. There was nowhere to go and no one to pick her up on the other end. She and Abby had always had each other, but now she was on her own. She moved her free hand to her necklace and rested her palm against the triangular charm. “LA,” she said in a rush. “Two tickets to Los Angeles, please.”
“We have a couple of open seats on a redeye leaving in an hour.”
She glanced over her shoulder. The men were gone, but that didn’t mean Livy was safe. “Okay, we’ll take them.”
The agent told her her total, and she tried not to wince. This was going to eat into her already strained budget, but what choice did she have? Money meant nothing with Livy’s life in danger. She pulled her credit card free and her heart ripped in two. To save her daughter, she was leaving Maryland and her sister behind.
Seducing Charlotte CoverA grand passion. A ruinous secret. An impossible choice.
The wildly handsome Marquess of Camryn is an industrialist who stands for everything social reformer Charlotte Livingston detests.
She’s mortified by her intense attraction to the aristocratic factory owner who thinks nothing of replacing workers with machines, depriving them of honest work.
Stirred by Charlotte’s tart tongue and refreshingly direct manner, Camryn launches a relentless campaign of seduction to win the spinster’s heart, but she is loyal to another man.
As a violent Luddite rebellion rages across England, unrelenting desire flares between the passionate adversaries.
Camryn vows to destroy the rebel movement, unaware Charlotte harbors a secret — a shocking connection to the machine wreckers that could shatter them both.
 ~~~*~~~*~~~

Technology is changing so fast, sometimes it’s hard to keep pace and not feel like you’re falling behind.

With the rapid advances in smartphones, tablets and social networking, that sensibility is certainly applicable in our modern lives. But it’s also a critical theme in my debut historical romance, Seducing Charlotte, which is set against the backdrop of real historical events.

The hero, the Marquess of Camryn, “Cam,” is an industrialist who uses new machines that are quickly putting skilled individual weavers out of work. In real life, groups of these disenfranchised laborers took part in what became known as the Luddite uprisings, which involved breaking into factories at night to wreck the new machines.

When I first read about the Luddites, I immediately thought about writing a story that places my hero and heroine on opposite sides of the conflict. So Cam became a factory owner while Charlotte is a social reformist and writer who advocates for the weavers, as well as for improved working conditions for those who toil in the factories.

It is a classic “opposites attract” love story, with intense heat, passionate romance, and a heavy dose of mystery as we begin to suspect there’s a little more to Charlotte’s involvement with the rebellion than meets the eye.

Today, the term Luddite generally refers to people who oppose technological advancement. What about you? What is the one piece of technology you can’t live without? Leave a comment for a chance to win one of two $25 giftcards to either Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

But there’s a connection between Ruby’s shadowed past and a case Troy’s working involving a notorious Brooklyn felon, throwing her safety into jeopardy. Confronted with his biggest fear, will Troy push Ruby away to keep her safe or fight to keep her in his arms where she belongs?

I mentioned on Twitter while reading this that Tessa Baily should win an award for her dirty-talking heroes and I stand by that. I hereby crown Ms. Bailey the Queen of Dirty Talking Heroes. Troy was just…shew. He was this perfect blend of a charming, humorous, protective boyfriend outside of the bedroom but when the doors were closed, he was dirty, controlling, and delicious. I adored Troy. And Ruby’s tough attitude and stubborn independence was perfect for him. Troy called her his pain-in-the-ass and she really was. My favorite part, though, was when Troy makes a mistake, he owns it. I love a good grovel and His Risk to Take provided that.

A Little About Edenton and the Others Who Call the Town Home.

My husband wonders what’s going on in my head half the time. Truth be told, there’s a lot and it’s probably a good thing he’s not telepathic. I have always had this fixation with monsters and magic. It only made sense to start writing some of it down.

When I started writing this book Fallon was front and center, demanding my attention. She’s a black sheep when it comes to other druids. She’s stubborn, independent, a tattoo artist who doesn’t care what anyone else thinks, and she kicks some serious ass when she needs too. The more her story came out, the more I saw about this town she finds herself stranded in and all the different people who live there.

I’ll admit it, there is a large cast, but they all live in my head. No, I don’t mean like multiple personalities, more like a movie playing out in my head. Anyway, I can’t wait for you to get to know them better.

Edenton isn’t your normal small town. There are a few humans who have made it their home but they all know about the other creatures in the world. There are Others spread throughout the world, but they seem to gather in certain places and Edenton is one of them.

One of the largest werewolf packs in the United States resides here. Slater is their Alpha and has been for a few decades. You’ll get to know him better in New Beginnings which will be out later this summer. The story takes place two years before In Too Deep so you’ll also see how he hooked up with Jess.

Werewolves in general shift into larger than average wolves and can be quite vicious. The stronger ones can shift into half-beast shapes. They can share a mate bond and it doesn’t always have to be with another werewolf. When they fall, they fall hard.

A few werecats live here but as solitary creatures they tend to stick to themselves. You’ll find lions, panthers, tigers and all the other large cats. They don’t mate in the same way, and they aren’t nearly as loyal as werewolves.

I’m fascinated by the shaman who wield earth magic. These men and women usually have some form of tribal heritage, be it Native American, African, or any other culture who are more in tune with the earth. Most of their magic involves some form of ritual. Shamans tend to have a spirit animal and can shift into this beast at will.

Witches are everywhere, but there are a few powerful ones living in town. Some can only create potions and concoctions while others can manipulate natural energies.

Edenton only has one druid. Fallon recently found herself stranded there. She is a bit of a misfit among her own people. Most druids tend to stick together in communes and live off the land. They can shift into multiple animals and use magic but their gifts vary.

Who can forget the fae? They come in many different species but only a few reside in Edenton.

Sheriff Hayden Hunter happens to be an Earth fae. A long time ago he was his king’s general, but things changed when his old friend was killed. Hayden was exiled to Earth and found his home in Edenton around fifty years ago.

There is an old Brownie who has looked over Brody since he came to the town. Phineas was his uncle’s protector and companion until Brent passed away. Brownies tend cling to a family, so he now looks after Brody and helps to keep his business running smoothly.

An air fae lives here as well. Half anyway, but she wants to keep her secrets for now. That’s a little easier to do when you can disappear into thin air and follow whomever you want without ever being caught.

Something about mages always draws me in. Their magic varies greatly and their spells will blow your mind.

The have an international organization called the Silver Council. They happen to police the Others. Their enforcers are something like Police, CIA, and FBI all rolled into one. There certainly seems to be something strange going on in their upper echelons but you’ll have to read future books to learn more about that..

Then you have vampires. There is currently only one who makes Edenton her home. Victoria has always followed the Covenant’s laws. She never kills without a good reason. She keeps to herself for the most part. She is pretty easy going as long as you don’t piss her off.

Edenton may be a smaller town, but there are a lot of people to meet and get to know as the series continues.

In Too DeepBrody is a talented motorcycle mechanic and werewolf stuck in his painful past. On yet another depressing night, he is viciously attacked by vampires.
Fallon is a brilliant tattoo artist with inherent magic. Tired of men and their games, she climbs onto her Harley and leaves her old life behind.
Running for his life, Brody crashes into Fallon and sparks fly. She ends up stranded in the Northwest with her ride out of commission.
With nowhere to go, Fallon allows her best friend to convince her to stay in Brody’s apartment. He’s determined to claim her heart and keep her safe from the shadows in her past. Fallon prides herself on her independence and would rather keep him safe, even from herself.
With the impending danger from the group of vampires and dark mages, Brody and Fallon will have to work together. The closer they get, the harder it is for her to fight her attraction.
Be prepared for monsters, magic and lots of ink.
