Mary Whaley has her hands full running a successful catering company and overseeing her supper club. She’s got everything she ever wanted—or so she thought. When she meets ridiculously hot and very dirty rock star Damien Hurley at her friend’s engagement party, the attraction she feels is overpowering—and she isn’t about to deny herself.
Damien is used to a hard and fast life. He and two of his brothers started a band when they were all in high school—then they hit the big time and stayed there. He’s also a legendary madman on the stage and in the bedroom. But when he meets Mary, something clicks, and the bad boy starts thinking he may have finally found something good.
What begins as a series of fleeting trysts soon get much more complicated. Damien can’t figure out why Mary doesn’t want more from him. And before long it’s Damien who wants more of Mary. But it turns out Mary is no stranger to the celebrity news and he’s got a very big job ahead of him—proving that he’s worth more than a one-night stand…

Yeah, so rock stars. I love em. I love music. Can’t imagine the world without it. I listen to music pretty much all day long when I work and each one of my books has a tracklist I build as I write – from the beginning as I’m sketching out the world and characters all the way through to edits and revisions.
So it wasn’t really a stretch for me to write about musicians.
I wrote my Brown Family series set here in Seattle, centered on a family of musicians and it spun off into my Delicious books and those too, are about artists, only of all sorts. Jules the goddess of pastry, Daisy the artist and the dancer and Mary, the chef.
They’re all drawn to create. Mary with the works of art she puts on a plate also uses good to take care of her family and friends. It’s the way she connects and nurtures as well as the way she expresses herself.
And this sort of normal woman from a small bedroom community west of Seattle in the Puget Sound, meets a rather extraordinary man from a small town in Oregon who is in a rock and roll band with his brothers and sparks fly.
But this extraordinary rockstar drummer is rather normal in all the ways that count. He loves his family. He lives on the ranch with the rest of his brothers. He helps out when he’s home. He’s connected to the land and the people he loves.
And he sees our sort of normal chef and he understands her art. Through his eyes she is extraordinary too. And isn’t that something beautiful?
But it’s also scary. And he’s got a past. A not so long ago past that she’s got to get around to see that the Damien of the present, the Damien who loves her has been changed by that and that Damien is not the drunken man-whore in the celebrity news, but the guy who shows up with presents like special file mixes and exotic salts and spices.
So LUSH is a story about two extraordinary people who at heart are actually sort of normal, but through one another’s eyes are extraordinary once again.
I hope you all enjoy Mary and Damien and all their friends and family (including a former attack pig named Violet who is reformed).
