Kindle Lending

Book loaning is finally available with the Kindle! Right now only a few publishers are allowing their books to be loaned, but that is better than what we had before. And it is easy.

Let’s say I buy Pack Challenge by Shelly Laurenston from the Kindle store. I read it, love it, and think Fatin will too. Since this is a book from Samhain Publishing, it is available for loaning. I go to the Manage Your Kindle section, click on the “Loan” button,  and enter Fatin’s info. Now Fatin has that book for 14 days. When the 14 days are up, the book returns to me. Easy-peasy and an excellent (and legal) way to share the ebooks you love.

This also works with the Kindle for PC app.

*Edited to add: It appears that there are geo restrictions being applied to the UK readers 😦

Amazon now has a program that you can download that allows for reading Kindle books on the computer and not just the Kindle. Check it out here. I’ve downloaded it and played around a bit. All my Kindle books are there and in order. 🙂

For the past few months I’ve been strongly hinting to hubby and the girls that I want a new e-reader…didn’t have a preference as to which one, just told them I wanted one and today the UPS guy delivered this to me!

kindle-2

Weeeeeee! It’s currently charging as I type this post and I can’t wait to get it up and running and download some books on it. It looks so pretty! Only thing that sucks is that it came without a cover so I must go order one because I don’t want this baby getting damaged. I guess all my hinting worked! ROFL

Free Kindle Book!

Found this on Angie’s blog. Amazon is offering a free Kindle download of Bonnie Dee’s PERFECTING AMANDA.

One woman, two men—the choice of a lifetime and the chance for a perfect future.

When Amanda McCormick heads west as to create a home of her own and begin a “perfect” marriage with a man she’s never met, gambler Spencer Teague intercepts her. Pretending to be her fiancé, he tricks her into surrendering her virginity.

Amanda hides the misguided affair and forges a relationship with her young husband, Travis. But her secret haunts her when she learns she’s pregnant. Meanwhile, Spencer is haunted by visions of a little girl who demands he find and help Amanda.

Their lives entwine as the three come together in an unexpected relationship that touches—and tortures—them all. Amanda questions whether perfection is attainable and if it’s possible to love two very different kinds of men.

Go forth and download it if you have a Kindle! 🙂
