I have a thing for tropical locations. I’ve written quite a few books set in Hawaii, Florida and the Caribbean. There’s something about the sand and the ocean that gets to me. Maybe it’s because I’m landlocked here in Oklahoma, and the feel of sand between my toes and the view of ocean as far as I can see is my idea of the perfect getaway. So when I want my characters to take a vacation, I send them to my idea of nirvana. Some people like to go snow skiing, maybe tour ruins or climb a mountain. Me? Put my butt in a beach chair, hand me a tropical drink and I could stare at the sea for days on end, my mind drifting, completely empty. Ahh, now that’s relaxation for you.
In my current release, No Strings Attached, Ella Hicks hasn’t taken a tropical vacation to spend mind numbing time on the beach. She’s looking to get laid. A widow for the past five years, she wants to get away from the familiar and everyone she knows and have a no holds barred fling with a complete stranger. That is, until she meets up with her friend and business rival, Clay Mansfield, who thinks sex with a stranger is the worst possible scenario for Ella. So he offers up himself as a safer alternative—her companion for the duration of the vacation. He’s offered to indulge her every fantasy, and it’s an offer Ella can’t resist. And after, they can go back to the way things were.
Or can they?
I had the most fun writing this story. First and foremost, because I got to—at least virtually—revisit Hawaii, one of my favorite places in the world. Lush and tropical, it’s always been one of the best vacation spots, and Ella and Clay have a wonderful time there. I’ve been to a few of the islands, and love them. There’s always so much to do, from snorkeling to swimming, driving around the islands to visiting the stunning beaches and waterfalls, nonstop shopping to gorging yourself on amazing luaus and enjoying Hawaii’s rich history. I can’t wait to head to the islands again.
If you were going to have a sexy, romantic vacation, where would you go?
I’m offering up a $25 gift certificate to either Amazon or Barnes & Noble to one commenter here. And hey, if you win, you can search out some books on my backlist and find out how many of my characters I’ve sent to the tropics. 😉
Aloha!
Jaci
good question^^;; i would love to go on a beach near a sea with transparent water or the opposite^^ because being stuck inside a good hotel in the mountain can be also really romantic^^
Well, I live in FL so I see beaches a lot. My ideal spot would be the mountains. Such beauty. A roaring fire in the fireplace and no where to go. Sigh.
WOW!! Hot!!! I can certainly see why this was a fun book to write. I think its going to be a fun book to read!! AND… even living in Florida, the beaches are still a very romantic place to me.
maybe a beautiful and secluded island
I would love to go to Bali. I think that would be the ultimate romantic location for me.
I’m an avid scuba diver and stuck living in the cold & dreary Northeast, so it’d definitely be somewhere warm and tropical! I’ve been to Fiji, the Maldives, Bali, the Philippines, Bermuda, and Malaysia (possibly others I’m forgetting right now), so I’d go somewhere I haven’t been. I hear good things about French Polynesia, the Seychelles, and Mozambique in terms of diving and beaches, so any of those would be good :D.
I’m with you there. Nothing beats a holiday near the sea for me.

I love your books and I cant wait to read this.
Definitely Hawaii. I know so many people who have a wonderful time there and several have gone back many times.
Any island in the South Pacific or perhaps Trinidad/Tobago or perhaps the north shore of Australia. In other words, anyplace with beautiful sandy beaches and ocean breezes.
I think I will go to Bali 😀
To the mountains in Gatlinburg, TN with my hubby.
Thanks,

I would go to Scotland. Who can resist the Highlands?
A sexy romantic vacation? I’d like to be secluded, snowed in, in a cabin far from the city…with a hot tub and a hot guy to keep me warm 🙂
Thanks for the chance to win!

My dream vacation is Ireland but right now with the forecast for 8-12 inches of snow tonight I will take anywhere warm and sunny! Love your books!

I would pick tropical too for a vacation. The idea of relaxing on the beach is very appealing.
Hawaii or Australia. I love the beach and would have to go there. A moonlight walk by the ocean sounds very romantic.
I grew up in Florida, so I saw beaches all the time. Not that I hate beaches, but I’d love to go somewhere new. Like Paris. Or Italy.
I agree with Amy… Hawaii and Australia sound fantastic, but I think I’d have to pick Wales and/or Scotland with their beautiful countryside and castles. Can’t get more romantic than that.
I agree, a tropical island would be great. I have nothing against the mountain but if it’s so cold you have to wear a sweater, how romantic and sexy can it be? Except if you’ve got a great heating system!
Thank you for the great giveaway!
Hawaii. My husband and I have always wanted to go there.
I could use a tropical vacation. Sun, beach, water…it all sounds so relaxing and romantic is there is someone in your life. I have always wanted to visit Hawaii. For now I’ll visit these destinations via books 🙂
love the cover and the interview. I would go to a secluded cabin in Alaska. Nothing more romantic to me than a blazing fire inside while snow falls outside.

There are so many wonderfully beautiful locations I have a hard time choosing, would be happy to visit Hawaii, Vietnam, Australia, the only requirement is that it is sunny and that there is a beach 😀 Thank you Jaci and congrats on the release!
A beautiful sandy beach that is secluded and private. Soothing warmth, sunshine and the ocean.
I’d pick Australia.
My favorite place to visit is the Mexican Riviera — Playa del Carmen and Barcello Maya Beach Resort 🙂 Heaven on earth. We’ve been there 2 times and it’s just awesome. A huge resort with everything you ever wanted like a cruise (including free soda and booze). It even has activities to keep the kids busy and out of your hair if you want to take them, we did 😉
I would so go to Venice, take a gondola ride, shop, stay at a swank hotel and eat amazing food.
Right now, I’m in the mood for a Hawaiian vacation…lots of sun, lush tropical vegetation, beautiful blue water and pina coladas. Thanks for a fun column.
I think Bora Bora would be very romantic. 🙂
I have always dreamed of going to Hawaii. My ideal vacation would be to take the 11 day cruise to Hawaii, so that I could visit several of the different islands there.Sigh. Maybe one day.
I would love to go to the south of France. I think that would be my kind of romantic beach getaway. Seems so glamorous!
I’m with you. Give me a warm beach any day!
That’s a hard decision to make but if I would have to choose just one location I guess it would have to be the Caribbean!
Australia or Hawaii. Bali. Heck, any tropical island will do!! 🙂
Hawaii or Australia. Bali. Heck, any tropical island would do!! 🙂
Scotland! Maybe find a highlander, perhaps? LOL!
Ireland! I’ve always wanted to go. It seems so beautiful there and I really want to visit the little cottages and those gorgeous castles.
I’d take a cruise, so I could stop at several fun places along the way.
My dream place to go to would have to be the beaches in Australia. Love seeing pictures of the outback not to mention the sexy sexy Australian accent!
I’m with you. You can’t beat Hawaii.
BALI!!! Just looking at pictures and I’m drooling!!! 🙂
When I was about 15 I travelled to Luzern through the Black Forest. During a quick stop for lunch at a tiny restaurant by the side of the road, I drifted into the woods and was in awe of the most beautiful landscape I had ever seen. Just across the road, beyond the sky tall pine trees, was a placid lake, the biggest I’d ever seen, and just beyond that were the Swiss Alps covered in snow. I could not imagine a more appropriate spot to return to for a romantic getaway.
Loving the cover and the story sounds great!!!

I love reading and was just wanting to get a few more books to read! I would love to check your books, I love the ones I read so far. 🙂
I’d love to go somewhere tropical if I didn’t have to fly to get there! lol But in the US I’d love to go back to Topsail Island, NC it’s my favorite of the few beaches I’ve been too. 🙂
I would hold up in some swank hotel and stay there for a couple days even one night would be better than nothing. I reall dont need anything fancy
Hi Jaci! I can’t wait to read another awesome book by you. If I could go on my dream vacation without my kids it would be to a warm tropical island with warm water and fruity drinks. With my kids it would be Disney World again. We went in 2011 and loved it!
Thanks for the giveaway! Have a wonderful day!
Hey y’all! My husband and I are planning a vacation for this summer, and we haven’t yet decided where we’re going, so I’m loving all your comments. And yes, I’m making notes. 😉
I would go to the island of Kauai.
Congrats on the release, Jaci. I would choose Tahiti as my destination for the romantic getaway.
I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland and it would just be very romantic!
We won a trip to Venice, so we’ve been there. Guess we would
just have to go to Hawaii! Next option would be ” see the USA
in your Chevrolet” !!
Pat C.
My sexy, romantic vacation would be Tahiti or Hawaii.
Definitely a beach! The sound and smell of the ocean bring me clarity and peace of mind! That’s got to be a good thing where romance is concerned, right?
Congrats on your release!!! A romantic vacation can be anywhere with my hubby. Thanks for the giveway! Ps I love the Play by Play series!
The Florida Keys, but during the off season when there are fewer people.
Napa Valley, hubby and I will be going when he retires in 2 years, I can’t wait…of course any vacation with hubby is romantic!
Ever since my sister went to Bali for her honeymoon, I’ve had it on my bucket list.
I love sun and warmer weather. Its snowing where I sm. I love to read in the sun
I would love to go to Italy or Hawaii. Thanks for the giveaway.
I’ve always thought Hawaii was romantic.
I have to agree, anywhere tropical and “secluded” is where i would like to be. Whats more funny is that i live on a caribbean island and i love the idea of a “private”, secluded getaway with the one i love. Love your work.
Fiji or Hawaii. Thanks for the awesome giveaway.
I’d hide out at a little secluded cabin with a fully stocked kitchen, hot tub and a big bed that way we wouldn’t have to leave!
Ok, everyone is probably thinking some place warm but not me, send my to the Highlands so I can ogle the Highlanders in their kilts and hope for a good stiff breeze so I can se a nice tight backside….
Z
I am totally with you seawitchreviews i would pick Scotland i have always wanted to go there. It has always seemed enchanting to me. It is number 1 on my “want it but probably never get it” wish list. I can’t go anywhere that is hot because of my MS so Scotland is the perfect choice!
I would love to spend a month in Australia or Ireland…
I would love to go to Hawaii. It is my Mom’s favorite vacation spot and I have heard that it is absolutely beautiful.
I am looking forward to reading this!
Totally love Maui, Hawaii but I think I’d pick the island of Capri (Italy) or Greece.
I would love to be on a tropical island, with lots of fresh fruit, waterfalls, and sunshine. Throw in a sexy guy and some Wi-fi (gotta be able to buy & download books) and I amy never come back 🙂
The plot sounds really interesting. I love this type of books 🙂
I love your books.. Can’t wait for the next one
I would love to go to Bora Bora Awww 🙂
It would be a cabin with a river near by with beautiful surroundings.
I would love to go to Hawaii! I have already been to Antigua on my honeymoon, but now I would love Hawaii.
I would love to go to Jamaica.
I would like to vacation on the island of Roatan off the coast of Honduras. I have researched this A LOT and have found this to be the perfect place to kick back, relax and enjoy the beach with my family. ♥
I’ve always thought Hawaii would be a romantic place to visit.
Probably Hawaii or Capri.
I enjoy reading your books no matter the location!
I haven’t been to too many tropical locations but I really enjoyed the Dominican Republic and would love to go back!
I would go to Scotland. All those Scottish romances paint a pretty picture.
Well, my 24th anniversary is February 24th and I’d love to go to Toronto, Canada where we went on our honeymoon, but it would have to be in a romantic hotel with a restaurant and bar because I am NOT going out in this snow and cold. LOL The hotel we stayed in was torn down, but I’m sure we could find another one:)
Bahamas
Well I have to say Hawaii as I did get the amazing chance to live there for 5 years . I can truthfully say that it was my favorite place I have lived and I would go back on a heartbeat . 🙂
Since i grew up and still live in Florida it is not my first choice, great as it is to live here. As my hubby and I love history and have never been to eastern Europe, I would love to spend a year there just wandering and seeing stuff.
But anywhere i can just hang with my guy (sans kids) is a great time to be had 🙂
Any tropical location with swaying palms, sunny beaches, and endless fruity drinks tops it for me. The hot weather makes it so much nicer not to have to wear so much clothing.
Since it’s cold and rainy where I am now, the thought of a tropical vacation where we could enjoy the sun and some skimpier clothing sounds fabulous! Thanks, Jaci!
I’d love to go to Bora Bora. I’m definitely more into tropical, beachy areas than cold snow.
My husband and I have always wanted to go to Hawaii
This sure sounds good, I do like books set in Hawaii or other tropical locations.
If I had all the money in the world, I’d probably like to go to a private island somewhere. I know there are some in the Turks and Caicos. Then I wouldn’t have to worry about what I look like in my bathing suit! LOL!
Fiji!
I would go to the beaches if Tahiti.
I probably am going to sound so sad but I’ve never been to an exotic or relaxing island my favorite vacation spot is Las Vegas!! I don’t gamble… much but I walk downtown or I stay in my hotel and read. That’s my relax spot my comment is I think I need a Hawaii getaway to be swept off my feet.
I would love to go to Belize or Costa Rica. I could set myself in a beach chair and stare at the ocean all day. A good book and an umbrella drink wouldn’t hurt either.
i would love a. romantic vacation at the Great Barrier Reef!
I would go to Fiji! Thanks for the contest and I enjoyed “No Strings Attached”! 🙂
I enjoyed this book! I can’t wait for the next play by play book. Come on march……
Somewhere tropical for sure! I love clear blue water and white sandy beaches.
I think I would go to Hawaii:)
I have a few more Jaci Burton backlist books to buy 🙂 *crossing fingers and toes hoping to win!*
swiss probably.. thanks for the chance 🙂

HELLO JACI. WHAT A YUMMY QUESTION TO ASK. I WOULD GO TO THE VIRGIN ISLANDS WITH MY SPECIAL FRIEND. WE WOULD DANCE, SWIM, SIGHT SEEING, GO SHOPPING AND CLUBBING, THEN AT NIGHT, WE WOULD HAVE A ROMANTIC DINNER WITH CANDLES ON THE PAIIO. HOW I WISH THAT WOULD COME TRUE. I’M A HOPELESS ROMANTIC!!!
