Last week on twitter, I saw a conversation between some bloggers on what to do with used ARCs. They can’t be sold. Some libraries won’t take them. I’m in the same boat. I have a stack of ARCs that I’ve reviewed and now they are just taking up space. So what do we do with them?
My husband works for the Department of Corrections and after talking with him, I found out that all reading material in the prison where he works is donated. And donations are few and needed.
That’s where I will be sending all my used ARCs. The inmates don’t care about shiny covers or if it has a few errors. They just want a good story to keep their minds occupied. I actually have some old erotic and non-erotic romance novels that need a good home. Most libraries in my area don’t want these types of books and because they are a few years old (even though well taken care of), no one wants. that is a great idea. my ubs has a shelf that is for ARCs and other books she cannot sell legally so you can take and leave what you want.
