They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Thanatos, the most deadly Horseman of the Apocalypse, has endured thousands of years of celibacy to prevent the end of days. But just one night with the wickedly sexy Aegis Guardian, Regan Cooper, shatters centuries of resolve. Yet their passion comes with a price. And Thanatos must face a truth more terrifying than an apocalypse-he’s about to become a father.
Demon-slayer Regan Matthews never imagined herself the maternal type, but with the fate of the world hanging in the balance she had no choice but to seduce Thanatos and bear his child. Now, as the final battle draws closer and his rage at being betrayed is overshadowed by an undeniable passion for the mother of his child, Thanatos has a life-shattering realization: To save the world, he must sacrifice the only thing he’s ever wanted-a family.

#^@% THAT!
Ah…curse words. They add so much to a scene, don’t they? Or, wait…do they?
I often hear readers object to harsh language in the romance novels they read, and I’ve gotten my fair share of email from angry readers who take me to task for using a lot (admittedly, a LOT) of curse words in my books. They say that the words are unnecessary. I even had one person who emailed me to say that by using a certain word, I was disrespecting my readers.
I #^@%ing disagree. Heh.
See, I decided a long time ago that I would not water down my stories or my voice in any way. If I’ve got a tough, angry character, in a gritty, dark world, and he’s just found out that everyone he loves has been captured and tortured, he’s not going to say, “Oh…darn. Those jerks!” THAT would be disrespecting my readers.
I write gritty, dark stories that feature military men, demon-slayers, vampires, werewolves, and demons. These are people who don’t say “golly gee and darn.” I use real-world language, because anything else wouldn’t ring true. My readers deserve better than diluted language.
So for those of you who like hot, lethal men who don’t hold back with their language — or their desires — do I have a book for you!
Lethal Rider, the third book in the Lords of Deliverance series (and the 8th in the Demonica series) has just released. In this book, events that took root all the way back in Pleasure Unbound (Demonica book #1,) will come full circle. There are apocalyptic events, huge revelations, and twists that will make your jaw drop (I hope!) There’s also lots of curse words, cuz hello…it’s the end of the world!
Maybe.
You’ll have to read to find out. 🙂
Hope you enjoy Thanatos and Regan’s story!

%&+^ Yes! I agree! Thanks for the chance to win!
They are adults, maybe not all are human, but they are still adults. The language they use is just what the character would say. I don’t have a problem with that.
twoofakind12@yahoo.com
I have not read any of your books (yet) and would love the opportunity to decide for myself. TY for the opportunity to win one of your books.
Some authors can pull it of in their books, and some not. And if I win this book, you can take it with you to Berlin next weekend so I can get it signed by you 🙂 Looking forward to the Convention!
Congrats on the release!!
I can’t wait to read your new books and last week I finally got book #1 of the Lords of Deliverance series – I hope to read it this weekend and I’m really really curious. Loved your Demonica books so I’m sure I’ll have a great time while reading 🙂
I love Larissa’s books! Even though I don’t generally curse, I love the real, intense characters that she writes. I would not expect either a demon, one of the LoD, etc say something like “Well gosh-darn, that really ticks me off.” That just would not seem real to me. I have never been offended or upset when reading one of Larissa’s books, I always enjoy them greatly 🙂
Love her books!
Larissa—DON’T F**KING change a thing, woman. I love your books the way you have written them. They rock!
Love this series!
I love this series and all your books. 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway.
I don’t mind foul language in books at all. Congrats on the new release!
Don’t change anything Larissa! I love your writing. Paranormals tend to be pretty gritty, so I have a hard time figuring out why anyone who is offended by curse words would even be reading one.
Fingers crossed!
I LOVE all your books…and that includes the language. It seems like what the characters would be saying in the situations they find themselves in. I am really looking forward to reading Lethal Rider!!
Don’t change!! Sometimes, depending on the character, there is a certain way they talk. You just can’t water it down. It wouldn’t sound right.
I cuss like a sailor, so I’m not judging you 🙂
I love Larissa’s books & can’t wait to read Lethal Rider. Thanks for the chance to win!
I wouldn’t ask you to change anything. I love your writing and have all your books. Thanks for the opportunity to win Lethal Rider!! 😀 #*^%!% Ya!
I swear alot as well, and it doesn’t bother me in books. If these guys said gosh and darn, it wouldn’t seem real at all. Can’t wait to read this, thanks for the chance!
I’ve never liked gratuitous swearing, but don’t mind it if it fits the situation. I’ve been curious to read one of Larissa’s books.
I am so glad that you don’t water down your stories or your voice!
Dude, I love me some curse words. #^@% yeah! 8)
Fun post. I’d like to read this book.
I am so happy that you stick to your guns. I love your books. One of the things I like best is that you don’t hold back. The character’s voices are real (especially my darling Wraith ;)). Thank you so much!
Let the characters speak and act how they want… it just shares their personality with us! Would love to win! Thanks for the chance! 😀
Fun post! Can’t wait to start reading this series!
I don’t curse (much)…But when it fits the context in a book I expect it. I do not like it when book or people in real life use the f* bomb every other word. I think they need a little more creativity in their language, it shows laziness in their thinking to me. I just finished a series that had A LOT of cursing in it that fit the situations and found myself “reaching” for those words in my language. In other words they were planted in my mind, I got desensitized to it and found I had to fight NOT to say them. Maybe I got too saturated in the series, lol.
I have all the books up to date and would love to win one. I found the series at Borders (loved that store..sigh), way back when and picked them up. I like to read a series from start to current release all at once, so I’m starting this one soon. I’ve heard SO MUCH good about it I can’t wait. It’s at the top of my reading pile now 🙂
I love your books just the way they are and can’t wait for more!!!!!!
I have a horrible mouth on my so cuss words don’t bother me in the least! Bring’em on!
Ohh cool riders, well I am in 😀
I love the books and I *&@!ing love the curses!
I love the books and my mouth is worse than a truckers – I work with all men at a motorcycle shop – yeah my mouth is as bad as they come! I like my stories with swear words in them – it makes it more real – the end of the world is coming – you don’t say oh gosh – geez yes… hell no! – And if you are going to swear make it worthwhile!
Be yourself, curse as much as you need!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these guys!! Just can’t wait…
love love love your books Larissa!!!
Omg! All of the horsemen and their partners sound hot. I can’t help it! That’s how you wrote them lol. Can’t wait to read this one. 🙂
I have read and reread all of her books. I absolutely love her.
Yay! I wanna win!!!! ❤ Larissa 🙂
I really enjoy reading your books. Using bad language doesn’t bother me. I think it gives the characters a little edge. I review books, so if I read one that has a lot of language I will warn them. That’s just giving them a heads up. You do a wonderful job on creating your characters, so if they don’t like it they don’t have to read it
F#ck yeah! Love all your books naughty words and all :)!!!!!
Best series EVER! HOPE I WIN!
I am hooked on this series. I have also told numerous friends and they’re hooked as well.
Pleasure unbound had me hooked! Can’t wait!!
I love your novals and do not find anything you write to be distastful or inappropriate, please don’t change your style your an excellent writter..
I actually got a chance to read this in e-book form from Net Galley. I would love to have the actual book to go along with the rest of the series that I also have in paperback! I LOVED this book, my fave so far. I loved getting to see the characters from Demonica! (I also have those books in paperback) I can’t wait for Reseph’s and Reaver’s books! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!
Got an error message, so hopefully this won’t post twice.
I actually got to read this from netgalley. I LOVED it. We even got to see the Sem brothers again…squee! I would love to win this to go with the other books in the series. I also have the Demonica books on my shelf. LOVE them too! Can’t wait for Reseph’s and Reaver’s Books!
Please don’t change how you write. The characters use you to tell their stories. If readers don’t like how you write they can go read a Harlequin Romance
What the ^•°×? Anybody with any sense about them that reads paranormal romance novels have to have open minds! I believe that’s why we read them! For the ones that are offended-you can always read something else! Last I heard it’s still a f*#$@%g free country! Damn! Oops I mean @$&*! (In my best devilish grin) 😉 p.s. thanks for opportunity to win!
I don’t mind curse words as long as it fits with the character. Thanks for the giveaway. I’m not going to lie. I hope I win 😀
Yeah, some folks are really opinionated as if they are speaking for the majority when really they know they are cussing up a storm! 🙂
Seriously, if you don’t like a word, replace it in your head with something else. Are you more interested in the story or the curse word? I vote for the story and I can’t wait to read this one! Congrats on the release and on keepin’ it realz!
Damn right! Ooops. Can I say that? Dang tootin’! :p
Can’t wait to read it. Great novels by someone who lives in wisconsin like me. Hope you are enjoying the wind!
S**T yea!! They are tough men and tough men say what they want when they want and no one is gonna stop them. I think even if you would cut the swering they would just complain about something else!!
Your book are awesome!!
I agree a writer should write they way they want if people object then they can stop reading it. So yes i #%?¢ agree with you.
Words are powerful. They are used by writers to convey a character and the character’s feelings to the audience. Sorry, I can’t picture Than saying…Gosh darn it the world is super messed up right now and Regan I am not happy with you at this moment. I want passion and I love the characters dark sides, cursing and all. F*ck Yes. Give me all or give me nothing. Larissa you give us everything and I for one appreciate that. Thank you for being loyal to your characters and your fans. 🙂
I love every book you write Larissa especially Demonica and The Lords Of Deliverance. I love the raw, swearing, hot guys, demons and all. I would not change anything about the way you write and if anyone thinks you should than they are obviously not real fans of yours 🙂
Cannot wait for more to come!!!!
I #^@%ing agree with you, Larissa. Having worked with many men in various jobs throughout my life, your books just wouldn’t be the same without guys swearing. I think Ward and Kenyon think along the same lines you do. I find all of your books, and theirs, all the more believable because of the language you choose for your stories. So, carry on!
Words don’t have power unless you give it to them. The words don’t bother me. The sex scenes don’t bother me. What bothers me are poorly written (and edited) stories — thankfully, Larissa’s books don’t fall into either category.
A contest?! Oh, f@#k yeah!
If the curse fits – I don’t have a problem with it at all.
dont water it down for anyone. Thats what makes your books amazing to read!
I can’t wait to read this one!!!
I F%$KIN Love Your style of writing. Your true fans love you, everyone else can F#%K off! F@#KIN love Profanity!
Would love to win
The thing about characters in any story is the fact that they -already- have their personality and the syntax of their particular speech patterns. If a writer tries to mess with that, you can seriously end up ruining an entire character.
Anyone who thinks that a few curse words are really that offense, probably shouldn’t be reading -ROMANCE- novels to begin with. Just my personal opinion.
As an amateur writer and a life time reader, I think it’s rude for a reader to think that they know what a character should and shouldn’t say or do.
If a character is in a bad situation, even the prissy or uptight type would be more than likely to say some unflattering phrases, it’s a part of life. I can guarantee that even the most prudent person wont be saying ‘Dangit’ if they get shot or stabbed or their family gets killed by a bunch of demons. Just sayin’. hahaha
Don’t you dare change a thing. That type of language goes with the characters. I did find it F#$%ing hysterical when Hades said, “Criminy” and Than said, “seriously,” “Criminy” and Hades said F%#k off. LMAO!!!
I don’t think that watering down language is fair to the story or the characters portrayed. Real people use profanity, especially big, tough, action heroes, and it would be silly to have them saying golly and shoot. So go ahead, let it all come out and I’ll be happy to read it. 😀
I can’t wait to read this book. It sounds really good. Please enter me in contest.
I wouldn’t change your writing for ANYTHING EVER!!! I think you use what’s needed for the situation at hand so #^@% the nay sayers! If they don’t like it they can read another author!
Oh I am so crossing my fingers for winning a copy! Yeah!
Awesomesauce! Thanks for the giveaway!
there is nothing wrong with the way you right and if they didnt like it so much they wouldnt be reading it anyway. People like that are just annoying. I love your books and have been reading them sence the begining and have my cuz hooked on them now too. I love to convert people.lol
For those who don’t like the “language” don’t have to read but they are missing out on a great series. I look forward to reading Newest book and hope to get started soon. tsp
*%#€ that!!!!!!! I love all your books. Your writing is truly amazing. Just finished it & I’m so in love with Than right now, lol. Keep true to yourself, your AWESOME !
larissa, their your books, your in control, you write however you want bad language and all. please enter me in your contest
I love the series, thanx for the great opportunity to win Larissa’s book!!
Unless The Church Lady accidentally picks up one of your books then *!?@%^ that! Honestly, people curse so it would be wrong if characters in books didn’t. I am soooooo excited to read this book!!!!! *!@#%??>( YEAH!
If a person doesn’t like the way you write, they are in no way obligated to read your books. It’s not as if it’s mandated or something. I happen to love your books just the way they are and I don’t believe anyone should change who they are just because someone else doesn’t approve. It’s none of their d@#m business anyway.
Congratulations on your new release. I love how you write and don’t see how the language is gratuitous at all, it belongs there. I hate reading a book that has the men talking in a way that feels unlike their character. the men you create are exciting to read, Thank you!
Just ordered for my Fire..can’t wait to start!
-Jen
You have always said up-front the kind of books you write and what you write about! Love your books!
BAD ASS ……… That is all
oh gosh, I think that you are soo right, i dont read your books cause i want some watered down bull i dig it cause its rough and tough and has dirty words that sound oh so nice in my head! Stick to your guns Missy! Btw i loved it and i cant wait to continue the rest!
I absolutely love this series. I do not really pay attention to curse words. I focus on how the words make me feel and if I can really connect with the story.
Can’t wait to read this book.love the cursing too.
First I absolutely love this series…And my man makes another appearance again…But I just have to say that the language does make or break a book for me. And I agree that these are not the type of men that use words like “golly gee and shoot…and that would take away from the story…Let us remember they are saving the world and not having a tea party….I did love the scene with Than and Hades. That was %%^&ing hilarious….
I don’t mind the curse words at all.Sometimes the scene calls for it.
Thanks for the giveaway.
Don’t change a FRACKING thing Larissa! LOL
I loved Than’s book and can’t wait until August for Reseph. Please post some tidbits as soon as you can 🙂
Love this series…Thanks
I love reading your books don’t change a thing
Write the story the way it is meant to be.
Sometimes the only thing that fits is a curse word, so keep on writing the way you write. Love your books!
I, personally, don’t care for the word. But anyone who doesn’t like it can do the same thing I do – just skip right over and keep reading. I mean hey, I noticed you threw in a “criminy” there with Hades so what are they complaining about! You are just about the best darn writer out there, that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it. Now get busy and get Reseph’s book out here for us!!
Don’t change! Let it be themself we love them like this.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Congrats on the new release! I’ve loved all your books and wouldn’t want you to change a thing. Cannot wait for this one, so excited 🙂
As a reader who personally doesn’t curse, I appreciate the necessity in using it in a book. MOST people nowadays use that type of language and to stay true to a character, it makes sense. An author has to take into account how their character would speak, not how someone else would like them to.
I love the series and I read for a few days the third Demonica book and I love it. Please don’t change anything. It is perfect and I think everyone here like your writing 🙂
I love Larissa!!! Love her books!!
Can’t wait to read Lethal Rider! I love the series! Don’t change anything. I’d be seriously disappointed if suddenly these extreme bada$$ characters started saying things like ‘oh golly gee willickers’…… @#$% That! Who talks like that now-a-days anyway? It’s bad enough that I have to censor myself in front of my 3 yr old now ppl are trying to do it with books? Sheesh….. if they don’t like the language… here’s a ‘novel’ idea….. don’t read it. Leave it to the rest of us who love it.
F’n a**holes need to mind thier own bussiness. If they don’t want to read about people cursing, don’t read the damn book. Anyways Can you honestly tell me that you would like Ky, Wraith, Ares, Than or any of our fav people (I do use this losely because said people aren’t really people) if they didn’t curse?
I don’t mind the language as long as it seems to fit the character.
I can’t really imagine a person in todays world who doesn’t curse when angry or overwhelmed. And in books, well it just adds to the tough, manly, sex appeal! I’ll take some!
I love your stories, Larissa, gritty characters and language and all!!
I Love All of her books. The language only just brings out the characters much more and gives an added attitude to the mix. Love It!!
Thanatos sounds like quite a character. Even the name has character.
I have read some books where the bad langauage just did not fit in with the story but I think there have only been a time or two where I felt the language was overdone. Love this series and donna enter me for this one as I picked up a copy yesterday!!! yeah
Z
Thanks for a fantastic post and giveaway! I’m so excited cuz I’m finally getting caught up w/ this series! I’m very excited 😉
An amazing and intense series. I’d not have it any other way. These men and women are so intense the cyursing is required reading. 🙂 It fits. Look forward to another great read. Thanks for so many hours of reading delight.
