This month (today actually!) I’m celebrating the release of my third book from Carina Press so thank you to Fatin for inviting me to blog here! I love when wonderful bloggers let me hang out with them and this is such a great site!

I have a confession to make. I’m one of those readers who sometimes – more often than I’ll admit – skips to the end of a romance if I’m feeling really stressed about the happy ever after. If things look too dire for a couple, I’m totally flipping to that last chapter and reading ahead. I should know better, especially when I’m reading romance because that almost always guarantees a HEA. But, I’m a bit of a freak when it comes to reading and I have no problem admitting it. Once I’ve set my mind at ease, I’m free to go back and finish the story. Of course now that I read most of my stuff on a Kindle, it’s a little harder if there isn’t a hyperlinked table of contents.

One of the reasons I love reading and writing romance so much is watching that sexual tension and realization of love develop between the two main characters. I love reading about people falling in love, and it definitely means an author has done her job with the conflict if I’m so antsy I feel the need to read ahead!

So what about you? Do you ever read ahead or are you stronger than me? Answer for a chance to win a digital copy of His Secret Past (open internationally).

Official blurb for His Secret Past by Katie Reus:

Six years ago, Alexis Baptiste’s world was turned upside down when Hunter Cassidy disappeared without a trace, leaving her alone and pregnant. She’s finally moving on with her life when he resurfaces, just in time to rescue her from a would-be assassin. Forced to join him on the run to protect herself and her young son, Alexis is now in even more danger: danger of falling for Hunter all over again.

Betrayed by rogue CIA agents after infiltrating an infamous drug cartel, former DEA agent Hunter Cassidy has spent years trying to clear his name. He’s not proud of the things he’s done, and knows he doesn’t deserve a future with Alexis, or the son he never knew he had, but he’s determined to protect them from the men who ruined his life. Convincing Alexis to trust him—and denying his feelings for her—is going to be the hardest mission he’s ever faced.

If you’re interested, His Secret Past is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Carina Press & all other major online retailers.

Why I’m Team Outcast (and why you should be, too 😉 )

* Team Outcast just sounds more badass.

* I get car sick. Sad but true. I can’t be on Team Trucker because I would spend my life with my head in a bucket. No one wants that.

* If you have children, you can actually call them “demon-spawn” without offending anyone BECAUSE IT’S TRUE!

* Lorenzo. This is his description from the Moira Rogers site:

Some halfblood demons are fighters. Some are lovers. Then there’s Lorenzo. Technically he’s only half-incubus, but that hasn’t stopped him from being 100% irresistible to women and men alike. He’s also the iron fist that will crush any halfblood caught using magic to cross the line between seduction and coercion.

How sexy does he sound? Can’t run into him while riding around in a truck.

* While the truckers in Hammer Down are extremely hot, they are not in the majority. It has been proven (solely by my observation at truck stops while on road trips) that sitting on your butt in a truck for hours on end results in Severe Flat Ass Syndrome (TM) . Do you want to be surrounded by people with no asses? How sad would that world be?

Which team are you on? Leave a (meaningful) comment here for one entry in the showdown, then follow the link at the top of this post to the Moira Rogers contest page for more opportunities to win. Have fun and remember that smack talk is encouraged. Go Team Outcast!
