Free-spirited Chloe lives life on the edge. Unlike her soon-to-be married sisters, she isn’t ready to settle into a quiet life running their family’s newly renovated inn. But soon her love of trouble–and trouble with love-draws the attention of the very stern, very sexy sheriff who’d like nothing better than to tame her wild ways.
Suddenly Chloe can’t take a misstep without the sheriff hot on her heels. His rugged swagger and his enigmatic smile are enough to make a girl beg to be handcuffed. For the first time, instead of avoiding the law, Chloe dreams of surrender. Can this rebel find a way to keep the peace with the straitlaced sheriff? Or will Chloe’s colorful past keep her from a love that lasts . . . and the safe haven she truly wants in a town called Lucky Harbor?

I grew up in a town like my fictional Lucky Harbor. Well, without the beach. And without the gorgeous, rain-forest backdrop. And of course without the wildly sexy heroes on every corner. But like Lucky Harbor, my home town wasn’t big on secrets. Oh, you could drop a hundred dollar bill and someone would run after you to hand it over, but you couldn’t keep a secret to save your life.
Lucky Harbor is like that. It amused me to write about a place where if you do something silly, say accidentally drink too much eggnog with your sisters and decorate your Christmas tree while under the influence so that you end up with a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, everyone will know it. Same as if you also accidentally fall in love with someone you never expected — everyone will know it before you do. They’ll know, they’ll discuss, they’ll conclude, and they’ll let you know exactly what they think about it. All in the name of neighborly love, of course. It’s the way it is in Lucky Harbor.
So it was a no-brainer for me to write a series of books set there. I started with three disenchanted, estranged sisters, all of them unknowingly searching for something that’s missing from their lives; the first two of which get their stories in CHRISTMAS IN LUCKY HARBOR. I loved the place so much I revisited it for my short novella in SMALL TOWN CHRISTMAS, weaving the magic of Christmas, the spirit of love, and the theme of forgiveness all in one.
I hope to set many more stories in Lucky Harbor. The town still has a lot of stories to tell. And a lot of secrets to spill…

Great post – I just started reading Jill Shalvis’ books and I already love them! I love her writing style and world building and can’t wait to read more. I’m currently waiting for Animal Attraction and can’t wait to get my hands on it! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I didn’t grow up in a small town but I do enjoy stories set there. I like the idea of people looking out for each other.
Great post, I grew up in a small community so I really enjoy small town stories. Lucky Harbor sounds like a great place to visit.
These books sound great, I enjoy reading a small town romance every now and then 🙂
I really love reading books about families and small towns. The pace of life is so different from careerpersons in the big city. Though I also love reading of those 😉
One of things I like most, is that the previous characters turn up again and again, so you can anticipate it, and you know you are going to have good laugh with some of the antics and quirks.
I love her books, especially this series. She always makes me laugh. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I really want to read this book. It sounds very good. Thanks for the giveaway.
I did grow up in a small town. Everyone knew everyone and everything about you. It was like CHEERS “where everyone knows your name”. I was happy to leave for college. It is the perfect place to visit… pretty parks, right on the shore of Lake Michigan, lots of nature trails, biking and camping.. My mom has lived her entire 87 years in that small town. Small town values abound. Unfortunately, the economy has taken a toll on the local businesses.
I’d love to visit Lucky Harbor. It sounds like the perfect place to make new friends.
I’d love to read either Simply Irresistible or The Sweetest Thing!
Happy Holidays!

If you want small towns, you have to visit Maine. My Aunt lived in Bethel and it was a nice quiet little town. There were mountains all around. It was heaven on earth. Happy Holidays everyone.
Thank you for a chance to read one of your books.
This book sounds wonderful! Here’s hoping I win a copy!
Janice
great giveaway,i love her books !!
I confess that while I love reading books set in small books where ‘community’ actually means something and everyone ‘knows your name’ (and your business, whether you want them to or not), I believe I would go insane living in one for real.
😀
I love this kind of ‘small town’ story!:)
and I love Jill Shalvis!:D
can’t wait to read this new book!=)
Thanks for the giveaway!;*
I loved Simply Irresistible and would love to win The Sweetest Thing. I love to visit small towns, but I have to admit, when I lived in one, the lack of shopping options kind of drove me crazy. Of course, this was pre-internet. These days, I think I’d have a much easier time of it.
thanks for this lovely book feature which sounds so appealing and special.
This book sounds wonderful… love small town stories… thanks for sharing!
My home town is much like Lucky Harbor as far as small towns are concerned. Everyone knows just about everything about you. I think I’ll really enjoy this series!
I haven’t read any of Jill Shalvis’ books yet but it’s on my TBR pile. From the comments here I’m going to have to move it up. Thanks for the giveaway.
I live in a very small town now. I grew up in one of the bigger cities in Iowa, but not a huge town. I love small town life. So quiet and safer. Jill is a new author for me and would love to win and read this book, so please choose me for the giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win.
