I am not the most patient person in the world. I understand why Marie Antoinette wanted ‘to have her cake and eat it too” – that makes a lot of sense to me.! No waiting for the results you want that way. And with spring comes a feeling of watching and waiting for something!
This spring’s anticipation has gone in a completely different direction than usual for me. After planning out my entire summer and fall schedule (using my lovely new iPhone to do it) something big shifted. Instead of being held in Nashville, something that was in the works for years, the biggest romance writers conference needed to move because of the recent devastation in that region. And the new location? Disney World in Orlando!!
I love Disney World. I go whenever I can – which has been twice this year already. Though both were for business meetings, I managed to add a family vacation onto the first one and I went in a couple days ahead for the second one. And now I’m going again! Woohoo!!
In the hours since the information was announced, I’ve downloaded new apps for my iPhone, search the floormap of the hotels where we’ll be staying (a new hotel for us – we’ve never stayed there before), check park hours and Extra Magic hours…so much to do…and the anticipation grows.
Spring also builds anticipation for summer and trips to the beach and romance novels to be read while sitting sea- or pool-side. I have a shopping-bagful just waiting for some open moments.
I’m also expecting to write neat book and am anxious to get it finished with some gripping scenes intact. The anticipation of writing that story and those characters is growing now and I can hear them and see them and want to meet them!
How about you? What are you waiting for in like? A favorite Author’s new book? Finding a new author? A certain vacation location in mind or being planned? I hope you’ll share your ideas about Anticipation – and one poster will receive a special gift from me.
Terri Brisbin is celebrating her new busy release, A STORM OF LOVE in an anthology. Her next book THE MERCENARY’S BRIDE. For more information, visit her webpage at www.terribrisbin.com.
lets see – vacation plans to NYC
am waiting for Nalini Singh’s new book to come out (I heart her 🙂
and I am praying I didnt just fail all of my law school exams but I will not find out until June 4th 😦
I am waiting for one thing, the end of school! I am getting my teaching credentials this year, and I have 2,5 weeks left…yup counting the days, cos it has been tough
I am waiting for a trip to Disney… it has been way too many years since I last went… also waiting for some new books by authors I enjoy reading… 😀
I am waiting for Jane Porters “She’s Gone Country”.
I am waiting for my vacation at the end of May. Beach and books for a week. I don’t want to move out of my chair.
Looks like you have a great book coming out!!
I’m terrible about waiting! Mainly I’m awaiting the release of many books by favorite authors, and my kids are anxiously awaiting the summer! (I’m not sure I’m quite as excited as they are!) Anyway, the wait can be fun if you know something good’s coming! It’s much harder waiting when the results are unknown!
Hi Terri! I understand your sentiments completely. Patience is a virtue blah blah, but I prefer to have other things. Like, what I want, without a wait. Heh.
Hm… well I’m waiting for books, I suppose – but also RomCon I’m very curious about it, and hoping more friends can/will go.
I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can get my garden planted.
I am waiting on summer, I take off every summer to spend with my children. We have icecream for breakfast on Mondays, swimming everyday in our pool and bowling on Tuesdays, more swimming in the pool, Wednesday is a day at the local aquatic park with more swimming, Thursday is going golfing with more swimming and then to top it off we leave every Friday for our lake house to spend the weekend tubing, skiing and you guessed it more swimming…lol. We love the water…
I am waiting on Lorelei James’ Raising Kane in June and Maya Banks Colter’s Lady..
I hope you have fun at Disney!!!
The future isn’t such a rosy prospect for me right now so I content to let time crawl and focus on the present rather than the future.
I’m looking to spend a little time with my niece during the summer. I don’t have any vacation plans yet, but I’m hoping we might head to Toronto.
I am anticipating taking a real vacation this coming year. This will be two weeks visiting my mother-in-law for the Christmas season. I have worked up to receiving two weeks vacation and am thrilled. Last year, was just the one week which I doled out periodically in order to stretch a weekend into a mini-vacation break.
So, lots of us are waiting on school things? And for books from favorite authors?
My last child will be graduating from high school next month and I think I’m in denial. Just doesn’t feel possible to me that the parade of children on school buses and doing art projects and field trips are grinding to a halt…
But, I will soothe my hurting hearts by reading lots of romances!! Personally, I’m looking forward to Anna Campbell’s new one and Lara Adrian’s and Gena Showalter’s new Lords book and many more!
Thanks to everyone for posting so far….
Terri B
PS — Sue – that doesn’t sound good! Sending good thoughts and prayers to you!
I’m looking forward to getting together with family and friends Memorial Day weekend.
Spring cleanup is underway. So I’m also looking forward to the end of raking old debris out of the yard and then planting some flowers!!
Can’t wait for romcon!!!
I’m waiting for my grandkids’ second birthdays–a few weeks apart in the summer. Reading-wise, I can’t wait to get Moon Sworn, Keri Arthur’s conclusion to the Riley Jensen Guardian series.
I am waiting for Kaki Warners second book Open Country, loved the first book and can’t wait to get the second!
Vegas in August. . . (chewing fingers down to the bones — i know, bad habit, but can’t help it)
Terri, just finished A Storm of Passion: excellent read!
I am anxiously waiting for new books to release and for it to finally be summer vacation!
Ohh I love your writing first, but yeah I’m eager for Disney!!! I love LOVE Disney and I think we’ll just do the signing and then do a week of Disney.
ROFL.
hugs,
WendyK
