People often ask how did I came up with the idea for this series. There were six of us who went on a plotting retreat at a friend’s lake cabin. We had plenty of wine, Colorado Bulldogs, and Margaritas, along with lots of chocolate—a deadly combination for stirring up ideas. And I had a vague idea for a book. I knew I wanted my heroine to live on the perfect planet, with companion units—the perfect man. He never talks back, he can clean, and give massages. But Mala wasn’t satisfied with her world so she goes in search of a real man—on Earth. My vague idea escalated as the weekend continued and we came up with so many ideas that the series was born.
Writing the Planet Nerak series has been so much fun. I really hate to see it end. Someone once asked me to describe what kind of books these are and I told them to think about Mork and Mindy, Third Rock From The Sun—but sexier. These are all stand-alone books but they’re connected. In other words, you can read them out of order. The last book is out now, Dating Outside Your DNA. I hope you enjoy it!

Okay, I have to admit that the first three are a little more comical than this last one—along the lines of Mork and Mindy.
In Dating Outside Your DNA Lyraka is only half Nerakian and has been living on Earth so she knows Earth’s ways. But what makes her different are the powers she seems to have. It still has comedy, though.
