The very first romance I ever wrote was sort of a tribute to my mom (though I didn’t realize it until much later, after the book was completed).  It was about a young woman that saw it as her call in life to “fix” things for other people.  And she wasn’t bad at doing it either. 🙂  That book eventually became Miss Fix-It written as L.C. Monroe with co-author Nicolette Derens.

I only wrote two Inspirationals before I realized that my passion and my calling was in sexy, steamy romance instead.  I’ve never doubted where I’m supposed to be since publication, but I sure have wished that I could see those two books published.  But the publishers in the CBA market frown on their authors writing steamy romance as well, so it was a no go.  Until Samhain Publishing came onto the scene and made it possible.  They brought out Meagan’s Chance first and it actually won the 2008 EPPIE for best Inspirational.  Neat, huh?

But now Miss Fix-It has been released as an eBook and I’m truly hoping sales on it will be strong so that Samhain stays convinced that Inspirationals should remain part of their publishing package.

Seeing every aspect of my dream to be a romance author come true has been incredible for me.  Every day is a gift and every book I see published is a total blessing.

Just out of curiosity, what is your favorite genre of romance and why?  Me?  I read almost everything and have auto-buy authors in pretty much every subgenre of romance. 🙂
