Falling for a demon can be hazardous to your heart.
Riana Dumain is a fully trained Sibyl, a warrior priestess battling
evil whose practical magic keeps her grounded in earthly
science–and desires. She knows that gorgeous NYPD detective Creed Lowell is dangerous, and possibly a foot soldier for the evil Legion cult, using his badge and drop-dead looks to consolidate demonic power.Creed’s low profile Occult Crimes Unit pulls Riana and her two sister Sibyl into the case of a politician’s son, murdered in a ritualistic sacrifice. Soon, Riana’s instincts prove true. Creed, the hottest half-human she’s ever known, a demon in bed and out, is guarding a trapdoor to hell. And unless Riana can find a way to tame her mystery man’s treacherous inner self (and her heart), all of Manhattan may be enveloped by darkness.
Gorgeous flame-haired Cynda Flynn knows fire—its heat, its power, its magic. A fully trained Sybil warrior priestess, Cynda’s weapon is flame. But she’s unprepared for the passion ignited by Nick Lowell, an undercover cop in the NYPD’s Occult Crime Unit. He’s half human, half demon, and hotter than hell, with fathomless black eyes that ignite something buried deep inside Cynda, making her melt in all the right places.
Luckily, Nick has found a way to control his dark side, but he’s done it old-school—through steel-willed self-control. And after five years working secretly within the deadly Legion cult, he’s unbreakable. Or he was, until Cynda came along. Now it’s personal—and even his big bad love may not be enough to halt a terrible new evil snuffing out fire Sybils like Cynda. It’s nasty. And if it can’t be stopped, they’re all going to fry.
As the broom end of her Sibyl triad, Merilee Alexander has the sacred duty as a warrior of taking out the trash. Lately, though, she’s been a little overwhelmed: Manhattan is a mess. And her prophetic end-of-the-world nightmares aren’t helped by the waking fantasies of love. Or the fact that the object of her affections, gorgeous Jake Lowell of NYPD’s Occult Crimes Unit, is playing it so cool.
Actually, Jake wants Merilee desperately, every luscious inch of her. Still, he’s holding back. He’s got secrets. Dark, dangerous, demonic secrets. But as Jake and Merilee trawl the city’s supernatural underbelly to out a demonic kingpin who, disguised as a charismatic leader, is amassing dark power, it’s make-or-break time. For their lives, their love, and the world are about to be sucked into the undertow of the tides of an unstoppable evil.

Thanks again, Mad, for introducing me to an author I never would have heard about other than your blog! I like the look and descriptions of this series.
I want to share with you a little story. I have been Anna’s critique partner for 8 years–we met online and she is truly one of my best friends. She’s multipublished in another genre, too, which she has an agent for who does not specialize in romance.
The story is that she sent me the proposal for BOUND BY SHADOW and I said “OMG. You HAVE to take this to a NY agent who specializes in romance. I recommended her to Nancy Yost, my agent, and Nancy looked at that proposal and within practically *days* that book went to auction. Three publishers fought over this series and Ballantine “won.”
So when I say it’s unique, powerful, fascinating and hot, I’m not saying it as a critique partner, I’m saying it as a person who loves romance and amazing “new” talent. The Dark Crescent Sisterhood is just a fascinating series. Anna is so creative and so amazing at “world building.”
I love all three books in the series but *my* favorite is the second one, BOUND BY FLAME. I so love the hero and heroine and the sparks literally fly.
I hope you read Anna’s series and enjoy them just as much as I have along the journey to the concept to being on the shelves.
The books sound great. Absolutely love the covers. Very yummy.
This sounds like an intriguing series.
Hi, Chey! ::waves::
Yes, Chey has been my inspiration and mainstay. I’m so grateful for her guidance and support.
Larena–yes, I love my covers, too. They struck me as right on for the characters involved. Cyclops8 and Laura K, I hope you truly enjoy reading them!
The books sound great!
Those covers are really nice–and I love the ‘branding’ in title and design.
I would say it’s reminiscent of the BDB covers, but these are lighter. Am I making any sense?
Hello again! This is such a lively blog. Thank you, Estella. I hope you enjoy reading them.
Azteclady! I think you’ve won some contests I’ve been involved in before–that handle looks very familiar. I adore my covers, too. I think it’s the color wash that makes them seem reminiscent of the BDB covers. But yeah, I think they’re lighter, a little softer. Thanks for commenting.
Hi, Anna!
*shuffling* that’s me, contest groupie… *sheepish*
Your covers are also lighter in composition, to me., than the BDB. Ugh, I’m not making sense. They are ‘branded’–they say series–but they won’t be confused with the BDB.
I agree with Laura, this is such a great place to meet new authors. Anna, I just got thru touring your website, and enjoyed the Dark Crescent Sisterhood faqs page, as well as reading all the great excerpts. I love that you have the series coming out so close together, because I can tell that once I start the first book, I will definitely be tracking down the next two.
Ooh! These sound great! Definitely have to look for these the next time I am in the bookstore.
Azteclady, I’m *glad* to see a familiar face. No sheepishness required. We make contests for folks to enter, so enter them all! I think I understand what you’re saying about the covers, and no, I don’t think they’ll be confused either. Which is good, because the Dark Crescent Sisterhood is definitely not a knock-off!
Cathy M–thanks for going to the website. I had fun writing those irreverent FAQ and interview pages. And I think the artist who did my book trailer did a great job.
Cherie J–I’ve been having fun finding the books everywhere, even in grocery stores here. Makes me happy.
All three books sound great! Putting them on my wishlist!
Amy S., I’ll make a wish that you get your wishlist soon. I have quite a long one myself.
Thanks, everyone, for showing up today and talking with me! You’ve been a very fun group.
Hi Anne, gosh, makes me want to find them all right NOW. Very exciting! Knowing me, I’d so want more even after the 3 books. After these three, is it the end of the series or will there be more?
Too how was it for you to write 3 books in a row? Did you confront with any difficulties, positive experiences? It just seems so much to do, but know its appreciated!
Hi Anne – wow, those covers! You’re a new to me author, but I’m definitely intrigued and plan on looking for your books!
Haha – I’m heading off to bookstore sites now
