Cathryn Fox in the Hot Seat talking about her new release, THE HOTLINE on Playboy Playdate radio!
On Tuesday I went on the Playboy radio Playdate show hosted by the fabulous Tara Mack to be a guest judge and to promote THE HOTLINE. It was fun and scary and I’ll tell you all about it!
First they have 4 million listeners….4 million freakin listeners and I just know I sounded like a boob! (Playboy, boob…wait, maybe that’s not such a bad thing!)
Seriously, though, there were times I stumbled, especially when she talked about THE HOTLINE. She was asking questions about what it was about, where my ideas came from etc. I sounded like an idiot, I know, talking about hot firefighters and how women loved them. But as I got into the playdate part, I got more comfortable.
Men called into the show and during the first segment we were asked a question and then sometimes given a multiple choice. Questions like how long does a pig’s orgasm last. One guy was too funny. He said, well I’m a pig. I guessed sixty seconds but boy I was way off. It was, ironically, sixty nine minutes. Tara pipes in…roll me in mud. I had to cover the phone I was laughing so hard. Another question was which animal has two sex organs. I remember snake and scorpion as a choice. I pipe in that man should have been on the list, thinking his brain and his penis were both sex organs. But I don’t think anyone got my humor. LOL. So I guessed scorpion but it was a snake. There were a few other questions to that segment.
In the next segment the men were given dating situations etc, and they had to say what they’d do to try to get that first date. I was the judge. So I was furiously taking notes as they talked. It’s very fast paced and I had to really concentrate to keep up. I had to give dating advice, tell the guys what they were doing right or wrong and if they would have gotten that first date (none did) and I think I handled that section well.
Then the last segment, the guys had to win me over. I could get rid of the caller anytime I wanted, and they would bring a new guy in so I always had three guys going at once. One question I remember was to caller Ozzie, Tara asked him if he had to name a hero in a book what would it be. He said Ozzie. I said goodbye Ozzie. LOL. Another question to a guy was, which game show would you like to be on. He said Deal or No Deal. I said goodbye to him because I didn’t like that show. Talk about a hard-assed judge. :))
Then I had to ask one final question so I just asked the guys who their favorite author was. No one said Cathryn Fox. LOL. So I told them they all got it wrong, but picked Adam from NY as my winner because I really liked him and he was very intelligent. His favorite author was Dan Brown, and he said he was very…adventurous.
It’s a fun, don’t take yourself too seriously kind of show. Tara Mack is amazing, intelligent and very quick on her feet. She really promoted and talked about THE HOTLINE a lot and that was fantastic of her.
Oh, she asked me a woman’s biggest fantasy. So I know in erotic romance right now it’s two guys. So I actually said that. My poor hubby, he was like OMG you didn’t!!!
Then Tara said she’d never do that and I was like, oh, never say never…sheesh.
Then Tara asked me for my final piece of advice to guys and I said, treat your girl like the princess she really is. God, I’m a dork.
I’d do it again, for sure, and next time I think I’d be more comfortable, because I’d know what to expect.
